my new-ish 09 CBR600rr

hey guys, i just picked up a 09 CBR600rr yesterday, its my 2nd bike. she came mostly stock but with Pazzo levers (real ones..lots of fakes out there) double bubble tinted windscreen (not installed yet) and a couple other little things.

im going to do the fender eliminator eventually, but i want to start off with different signals because im not a fan of the oem ones.
what are my options, i dont really know where to get the flush mount ones other than ebay, and i can only guess that the $20 ones are top quality.....
any links to where i can get reasonably priced ones, hopefully with resistors, and that are bright enough. if i dont have to splice them in that would be nice, but not a big deal.
i think i read some just stick on with 2 sided tape and others have a nut and bolt style.

ill be doing the under tail with signals built in as well (i like that it will get the attention of the drivers a little more), but that will most likely be towards the end of summer when i change the exhaust...im not a fan of the OEM fender but until i can do it right its gotta stay, ill probably order a couple parts at a time...i went way over budget on the bike but i got what i wanted so im ok with it...so for now, just signals lol

and because we all love pics....

Really?

under tail brake light, that has the signals feature.. yes, it will get the attention of drivers more.
the flush mount signals ive seen are only visible from left and right by the looks of them, not so much for the car directly behind you, so if my brake light faced backwards and has integrated signals then it would be more visible.

99.3% of all fender eliminators with built in signals are WAY dimmer than your stock signals, and are VERY hard for drivers to notice. They are also illegal because the signals aren't spaced far enough apart.

Do a lot of research if you want signals that'll actually be somewhat bright.

And if you get a digital flasher relay for your bike, you won't need to worry about resistor matching to get the proper blink speeds. Any signals, LED or otherwise = flawless flash every time. Royal Distributing sells a universal one you have to solder up, but I'm sure you can find one for sale online that has the factory connectors for your bike.

Don't run perfectly flush front signals, nobody will EVER know which direction you're going. See if Proton make flush mounts for your bike. They are somewhat visible from the front, and bright as ****, so at least people can see them.

Nice bike!

If i were you i wouldnt install front flush mount signals, they are completely useless.

I'm not too much up on the Hondas, but since a friend of mine has an 09 CBR and went thru this last summer, I'm pretty sure your best options for a tail light is either the CustomLED replacement taillight, which uses the stock brackets (sits under the exhaust) or you can get the Tripage LED taillight which with a bit of minor cutting will slip up between the exhaust and the tail and looks really slick. I don't know how well the Tripage unit will work with the stock exhaust, because of the endcap trim. You would likely have to remove it, and iirc the stock can looks pretty ugly without it.

Here's the Tripage integrated taillight on her bike, with a Leo Vince slip on that we installed at the same time. The light is 100% PnP. One of the reasons she went with the Leo Vince is because it's quite a bit shorter than a lot of slip ons for this bike, and doesn't get in the way of the tail light. I believe she was looking at an Akra pipe as well, but the Leo Vince came up on sale so she got it instead. Either way, it looks and sounds phenomenal.

Very nice bike. I ordered flush mounts from Watsen Design. Still waiting on them so I have no experience with them. All the reviews I've read have been great and apparent they're very bright.

thats the style i was looking at with integrated signals.

heres the link to the eliminator kit im going to put on as well.

That eliminator will work best with the stock exhaust, but like I said, I think the OEM endcap gets in the way of the LED taillight when it's above the exhaust like that. I'd wait until you get an exhaust before doing the taillight if you're dead set on that style. You can get the plate bracket with the light when you order it.

edit: See how close the stock exhaust is to the light? It makes it that much harder to see, and if you're going to be doing a pipe at some point anyway, I'd just wait and do it all at once.

ill be doing exhaust eventually, the brake light will be swapped out when the pipes get done.

for now, im just looking for the signals. im going leaning towards ones like the ones in this picture with competition works kit.

actually, this competition works kit looks good.. uses the factory tail light so you know its bright enough, and put in nicer looking signals then trim off the extra section of the fender.

Nice bike. Not sure I really understand why people try to make their bikes less visible on the road though.

Nice bike.
Save the modifications for after you've learned to ride it.
Leave it stock now.
Then use the money to fix all the broken stuff.

What exactly is the HTA for that as my brake light and Signals are all together pretty much.
Yours would be like this right?

That would be triple the width of the integrated tail for a 600rr. I agree with others, these are difficult to see what the light is indicating, it's all jammed in way too small of an ares regardless of how bright the light is.

Do you really believe this?

Last I checked (which was a while ago) there are two GOOD options for turn signals: (1) Stock. and (2) Rizoma.

Rizoma's are $$$...so if you aint got $$$ then keep it stock, bro. Unless you don't care about people seeing them (which is completely rational, given that people don't really see motorcycles in the first place).

TBH though: They're just friggin turn signals!!. IMHO they don't ruin the look of a bike at all. No one that doesn't ride will care or notice, and other rider's don't care either. The stock fender does ruin the look -I get that- But I guess I'll never understand this ricer-ish obsession with making turn signals as hard as possible to see.

I bought a new-to-me 600rr last year. Came with an aftermarket integrated brake/turn signals and the fender was all gone. Got one warning from OPP and my group said it was way too difficult to see when I was braking or signaling to turn (especially during the day). Didn't want to be another statistic so...

Ended up installing this for brake lights

And I'm in the middle of a DIY mod similar to this for the turn signals
