My helmet saved my life

Funny how this is my first post, but just wanted to chime and say that its good to hear that you are okay and from what you have been writing you seem in good spirits too. Hopefully you will keep riding and next time dont rush. Most mistakes are made when people rush. In perspective, my only car accident I was involved in my life was me pulling out of a parking spot in reverse and hit a car driving by because I was in a rush to get to a meeting. Life lesson!

"I remember lying on the concrete assessing my damage in my mind and thinking 'damn, this helmet is comfortable!'"

interesting; when I had my accident (east-bound, left-turning car where I had a west-bound right-of-way), which knocked me out, I came to with no idea where I was or why, but I was also extremely comfortable! took a while to realize I was lying on a road with my foot in gasoline and an ambulance crew around me. I was in full armour, but my helmet was the worst banged up (SUV in the face'll do that, I guess). Maybe for my next helmet, I'll get what you recommend! I wonder if that comfort is a form of shock?

Happy you had a kick-*** helmet and that you are with us today, and with a kick-*** sense of humour to boot!
