Ride safe guys, and be careful in the mornings:

Kinda gross 1st pic: http://imgur.com/a/RHSa6

Lowsided on a hairpin on the way into work, my guess is cold tires.

Bike is fine, I finished the ride in to work. Mirror is destroyed obviously but the frame slider/bar end slider mostly saved the fairing. Wear your gear people, I got lazy. Joe Rocket riding jeans held up ok, phone saved my thigh. Alpinestars SM-X Plus boots I'm crediting with saving my ankle and foot since it was trapped under the bike. Dainese 4 Stroke gloves are damaged but in one piece, no damage to the hands. Icon douchevest is fine.

There would have been no injury with a jacket or elbow pads. Not an ATGATT guy, still am not but just remember what can happen.

*Edit: So summary of "injuries" in order of suck: Rash on forearm, pulled groin, ACL sprain, bruised foot. Otherwise I am a-ok with just bumps and stiffness. I feel incredibly lucky all things considered.

Anything you can walk away from, is a good day.

polysporin and vitamin E. You'll have a great story to tell at the office how a bus load of ninja nuns attacked you while you were saving orphan kittens on the side of the road and you had to defend them by throwing your motorcycle at them.

head up. Could have been much worse.

How long is your ride to work from your house? And how far in the ride did you crash?
Sorry to hear man. Take it easy and heal up.

At least you got to walk away from it, doesn't matter the damage to the bike, as long as you're okay that's all that matters.

Any fall / accident you walk away from (and can finish the ride!) is a good one! Glad you're alright and just use it as a learning experience.

I hope that forearm heals quickly. GWS

Ouch! Get well Soon.... thanks for the reminder.

Glad you're ok...but you learned first hand why the ****** vests are pointless, SO wear a PROPER jacket!!

GWS, dude!

at least you didn't break anything!

I think she was referring to the fact that a lot of people use that excuse. With today's tires you have to lean it over pretty damn good with a lot of speed to wipe out on a "cold" tire.

I wouldn't say that. My Q3's still slip even after 10 min of street riding

a cold tire will slip pretty badly without much lean at all. that's how i got my first highside

Whoah Kellen is a chick? Never woulda guessed.

And they're Pirelli Angel ST tires, not exactly Hypersport stickies and I had been commuting for less than 10 minutes. In any case I could see on the road where they broke traction, so I'm confident that it was the rear that slipped out due to the "cold" 15*C morning and my lean angle. No debris on the road at all.
