My Dog :(

There's a hard mass in my dog's lower right jawbone and it's growing quickly. Showed up 4 or so days ago. I'm freaking out since this is so reminiscent of when my cat developed osteosarcoma and died in a matter of weeks. Labs are very prone to bone cancer.

Going to the vet this morning. Please send good vibes that it's just something simple like a bad tooth. :(

Sending good, happy vibes stormcat :) Those brown eyes just make me smile, hoping for the best.

Happy healthy vibes your way. Hope it's nothing major!

Awwww, from one dog lover to the next I wish you good luck

<<sorry, gonna revoke my man-card soon>>

Hope him all the best! Its probably something trivial

Hope the pooch is OK. Dogs are resilient..my 14 year old beagle has had a stroke and completely recovered, she's deaf, has arthritis, had some teeth removed and still has hypothyroidism and odd lumps here and there...........and she went for a run with my wife this past weekend wagging her tail all day and then munched her way through part of my haul from the Polish Delicatessen.

Good luck with that little guy. I'm a fan of chocolate labs, and that's a good looking pooch. My dog had something similar and it turned out to be an abscess; it wasn't a cheap fix but it was better than the other situation. I'm sure he's going to be fine!

Vibes sent!

I somehow managed to hold my sh*t together until I got out to the truck. Then burst into tears. They're keeping him. It's not a simple infection and they had to knock him out to do radiographs. They were hoping it would show a pocket of infection, but the radiographs did not. They believe —as of right now— that he's having a "severe reaction in the bone" (their words) to a canine tooth he broke as a puppy. They haven't ruled out cancer. They're keeping him anesthetized, removing the canine and taking a look at the jawbone while they're in there.

I love my dog more than anything else in this world. :(

My best wishes and thoughts are with you, stormcat. As a fellow pet lover, I can only imagine what you're feeling right now.

Thats sucks, but at least there is no clear terrible news yet. This could still turn out ok (with the exception of the ugly vet bill). Good luck.

Very sorry to hear that but whatever it is, I hope they got it all and have caught it early. He looks like a fighter! ;)

Thanks so much for your support, everyone! It means a lot.

He's a fighter indeed. He loves life. Big, silly, happy monkey that he is. Tomorrow is his Birthday. He turns 6-years-old. Still young, and he's very, very fit otherwise.
