My bike insurance is so cheap.

It's a well known fact that SF will give you a great insurance rate on the bike, but will screw you with the car insurance rate. I am paying around 1400 for the bike (CBR600) and around 1300 for the car with MM. SF offered me around 900 for the bike, but almost 2100 for the car.

Not always true.

I was paying $115/month for my pathfinder and SF quoted me $120/month.
And Bike alone was $117/month and with the Truck it was $71/month.
I also got renters insurance for $13/month and they took an additional $20/month off the truck rate.
So if I didn't switch the truck I would pay $245/month but because I paid the extra $5/month on my truck I now pay $198/month for everything.

lol I don;t understand what people complain about. I called my SF rep today for some quotes and was very surprised. 29,GM2 Clean Record. We switched from TD MM on a service employee rate and pay les per month on our cars and house as well.

I Pay $58 a month CBR F4

Quoted $72 month 2012 GSXR 750

Qouted $94 month 2012 R1

26, clean record, $100/month basic coverage for 2007 EX500 on its own. I suspect some of you list your quotes without stating you also have a car with SF.

which company? im interested..... for real lol...

pm me and ill send you the details. there are slim picking on cars thou. but I think its the best deal for a biker for a winter beater.

You shouldn't compare an annual auto premium with an annual motorcycle premium, since a motorcycle is really only used from about May to October. If you want a more fair comparison of your bike and car premiums, you should double your bike premium.

Speak for yourself. Had a nice ride home this morning. Why stop in October? Free insurance from TD in the winter remember lol

you should have been out there last night. when i left down town it was raining and it turned in to a snow storm as i hit the 427 north.

I was out last night from 8:30-9:00. Granted only for a 20 minute ride and no further north than st Clair. Joys of inner city living. It was enough to soak through my not-so-waterproof 3 year old pants but not my nearly 30 year old Honda jacket that they were giving out with the original 1100 interceptor. Honda: 1, Mark's Work Wearhouse 0 :/ time for a bottle of nikwax waterproofing

27, G, M2 in march, on a crf230

57/month with SF

less than half of some other quotes i got back in april

my trip was 45 kms on the highway. I was layered with a heated vest fleece liner leather jacket and rain gear all over.

was clearing my visor every 30 seconds or sooner.

trip was around 11:30 -12: 30 at night

Ahhh the insurance joys of not living in Toronto. I need to find a job and place to live not in the GTA to get some these rates.

i never work in Toronto anyway. i was in Collingwood and Port Dover all summer. right now in working in orangeville,.

so where should i go get a quote from? im turning 22 in January, so that will be 6 years driving experience, im buying a bike in march (Kawasaki 250r 2008-2010 one of those years), but might not if insurance is ridiculous.

around $1800 for liability, only thru john duffy (jevco)
if you have a car with SF, it's gonna be 40% cheaper almost.
but of course even at half price it is still ridiculously expensive

State Farm would probably be the same price with a car due to not being 25

For people that don't have a G and over 25, Rider Plus is a close second to SF. I got my Rider Plus quote of $1300 compared to SF 1200. I'm going with RP because I don't have a G. They had way better service than all the SF agents I called. Just make sure you take off the Family Protection stuff RP add on automatically that's pretty useless.
