Moving a bike to be safetied.

Where are you. I would actually love to learn to maintain a bike especially this one. I am in Toronto.
That's the catch, I'm 3 hours from Toronto city hall in the direction of Ottawa, but it is very nice here.

The only benefit of having collision (which usually includes a clause that omits it from covering a simple upset) is that if somebody else hits you and it is completely their fault, you will be dealing with your insurance company instead of the other guys insurance company.
Personally I have never had collision coverage on any motorcycle, this is speaking from first hand experience, I had to deal with the other guys insurance people when I got rear ended. I was required to report the accident to my insurance people, at which point they did nothing.

Never owned a bike with a loan against it, so near minimal insurance coverage is all I have ever had or needed.
When was this?

1986 rear ended on my at that time 5 month old bike.
Have managed to avoid all street accidents since :I ride more aggressively.

... they refused to cover the cost of a rental bike too btw.
What I Should have done in retrospect is to go out and buy a brand new replacement bike and sue for the entire cost.

Aha, makes sense. Around 1989 we switched to no-fault, so you never deal with anyone but your own company now.

15 days after I bought my first new bike a lady backed into it. Ink had. It even dried on my policy.

;) don't try and ride it here on leaky forks.

The concept of "no-fault" is a ridiculous insult to the guy who was totally not at fault. What moron made up that law :| never-mind, I think I can guess. They can change the rules of who picks up the tab but the outcome to the injured party is the same, your bike gets messed up and is never the same after, they pay the minimum possible on only losses that you can substantiate on paper and sell off anything that they can even if it is just your VIN on a bent frame.

It’s an asinine policy. I just got two quotes. And it’s a 3$ a month difference with or without collision. I may as well keep the collision.

If you get the chance, please do ask what the collision coverage on your motorcycle actually does for you, would be interesting.
btw ... hardest thing to service on your bike is the carbs / fuel system and valve adjustments, everything else is fairly standard.
