Motorcycle Wrapping

I've seen this done on cars but has anyone ever wrapped there motorcycle fairings instead of painting them. Should it be done? If so any recommendations. I'd like to wrap my 2001 speed triple, tank and fairing in matte black and then add the decals.

Thanks

you need to be really slow and patient also you need a good heat gun and at least one more person to help you ...i wrapped my bike full black matte , it looks great , but when you get closer lots of bubbles and wrinkles shows up. i call my bike wrinkly now :)... still look great tho

I got a guy in Kitchener that will do a 600SS for $500.
Does awesome work too.

This is sort of the average price I've found for someone to do ALL plastics with proper 3M Vinyl.

Why not just plasti dip? Cheaper and easier.

@ silverbullet, I didn't look at the plasti dip option. Not familiar with this process. I have a speed 01 speed triple so I don't know if that makes a difference in price. I also need to have my tank done to have it all match. Do you know where I can get a qoute?

@jeffjones, thanks for the lead. Do you have contact info?

@amazin, did you do it yourself? If so where did you by the wrap.

Thanks Guys

There is oren102 on this forum who might be able to help. PM him.

don't wrap. I've wrapped a few bikes in the past including my own. It's good for one season but it scratches very easily. If I were you I would either:
a) plastidip
b) pay to get them painted. If you sand and prep them you can get someone to paint it matte black for about $400-$500.

Plasti-dip is a pretty good cheap option to doing it. but it has to be done right. if you spray from the wrong angle, too close or too far you will end up with texture and it will look like ****. Also if you do it leave the bike alone for a few days if the tank isn't cured you will rub it off with your pants while riding (i know from experience). I plasti-dipped my FZ6R over the winter last year and it came out great i peeled it off before i sold the bike.
