Motorcycle Show Opened Today Who Has Been?

sat on a few bikes, the new honda hawk looks interesting but is too small frame physically for me. for those height challenged you might try it out.

was also pleased to learn that RTI is giving a discount to returning students that need their M

That was a nice bonus for signing up today:)

This was my first time going to any show like this and I wasn't really impressed. I here the January show is the one not to miss. Nice to see the new bikes but I doubt I will ever buy a new bike. The bikes that caught my eye was the new CBR1000RR and the FZ8. Couple displays had gear but I wasn't really looking for gear. AMSOIL girls :agave:

Seriously saw everything in like 1 hour. Was cool to see some of the new bikes (New Augusta, New Duc, etc.) but the show was SMALL!

every year it gets smaller

i went in 2008 and they had the hall they were in this time plus the two adjoining small halls at the ends. last year they had only one of the small halls where they put the beer "tent" and the food, this year that hall was gone and the beer tent and food was at the other end (oddly enough it didn't really shrink in size but it appeared to have fewer food vendors there. the back wall was where the dried meat, leather and shammy vendors were.

just a comment as i've done a few trade shows in my time. If your T.O. based your costs to do the show could be half those of out of towners, they get hotels x number of staff x four nights x associated meals (show food retarded pricing) x logistics to get booth in and assembled. A 10 x 10 booth can be 8-10k all in pretty quickly.
Its hard to calculate tangible sales vs. marketing exposure, this is why these shows will continue to downsize in this economy. Diluting the puddle by having multiple shows just makes it worse.

The show organizers start to offer incentives to fill floor space, even free booth space to charities and clubs, but then they don't have the cash input to promote the show and offer the value added like live bands at the beer tent ect. and now we are on the slippery slope, and the shows get smaller.

Yep, noticed how small the show is yesterday.
I think the Anime convention outnumbered us

But girls with Elf ears are so Hot!!!...I enjoyed the show it was dead and nice to actually be able to talk to some reps and spend some time with the bikes with out a million people around. Wife actually said she enjoyed not getting bumped into and having to wait to try out bikes for sizing.
