Motorcycle Show Opened Today Who Has Been?

I'll be going tonight when my gf can get free admission. Like most years, I'll bet dollars to doughnuts that there won't be any good deals.

Think of this weekend's show like the auto show - you go to look at new bikes. There will be some other vendors around, but there likely won't be any deals.

I just got back. Not a big selection of gear. Gp bikes had 25% off jackets. Honda is giving away kick stand pucks. Was a small show not enough for me to spend a day but it was nice too go and sit on the bikes and see what felt good and what didn't.

Damn my girl said if I liked anything like a jacket or whatever she would buy it for Xmas. Well I'm still going to see the new bikes.

Just got back myself. Wouldn't have gone unless they had a deal on trackdays i wanted to take advantage of. Shannonville run trackdays are buy 5 get 20% off. So basically 5 for the price of 4. Other than that you have the usual people sitting on bikes talking about how they would be faster on them, why they should start on a litre bike etc. As well as what was mentioned above.

I'm afraid if I go I'll end up buying a bike. Last time I went I put a deposit down on a 250 Maico at Gord Stafford's booth.

Was the convention centre even in the planning stages yet? :D
Don't ever be afraid to buy a bike, especially when there's so much room in that garage of yours!!!

p.s. I may need a place to park an 8'2" x 6' ute trailer for about a month, maybe two.......any ideas? (I can pay in Scotch, or whatever the flavor of the day is)

Jeesh,i haven't heard that name since the early 80's! Wonder what he's up to?

If the show was a horse.

It'd be imminently glue.

Princess Elizabeth building at the EX. I'm pretty sure you saw the pic of me holding that new-fangled Suzuki JR 50 in my arms when I was there.

I'm looking for a KTM 300. People tend to hang on to the 3 strokers, so the market is thin.

I think I have enough room to park a trailer or 3 in my driveway if you need ;). Might want to do it soon, cause I don't shovel all the way back to the garage. And there's no need to you to pay for what amounts to empty space. You need some parking space, bring it over. Seeing as you were asking though, now that the LCBO has FINALLY started bringing Blanton's in again, I've been on a bourbon kick. The single cask is delicious.

No idea what happened to Gord after he closed the shop. Seeing as his folks owned Stafford Farms in King City, I'd say it's a safe bet he landed on his feet. Bob Markle was floating around in the industry, but fell off the radar.

My son provided some entertainment with his first ever motorcycle experience.

The luxurious seats are stuffed with eagle down and the dashboard inlaid with the beaks of a thousand eagles. Also, there are some eagles under the floorboards.

ps I went for the 1199S...wasn't at all dissapointed. It was the star of the show in my opinion.

F3 kind of let me down a little.....just because I felt it wasn't properly presented, and I can respect what they had to do to bring the price point down in terms of build quality and materials, but they really should have come guns blazing. They said only 60 are earmarked for Canada and they probably don't have to do anything to sell them, but I was hoping for more pomp and fan fair. It just seemed to have lost its prestige and mystique in my eyes. But that's just me.

All in all a great high class environment with eager enthusiastic passionate reps. Kawi should have been there though. Aprilia put in a good showing, and BMW as usual was a top tier presenter.

I was also pleased to check out the Reevu helmet and glad I didn't buy it sight-unseen. It let me down, but I'm happy I got to preview such new to the market gear in a market like Toronto. I can't say I felt neglected in Toronto.

I also would have liked to see more from the likes of Royal Enfield and I was hoping to see Ural, but the latter was just wishful thinking. I was also wondering why the KTM RC8 road version wasn't on show...perhaps their 2012 alotment hasn't come in.

2 hours is sufficient, and $16 for me and the wife and $5 for parking was quite acceptable.

But the take away was how amazing all the reps were, I have to say I was impressed with the passion, even if you weren't buying.

Over all I was pleased.

KTM as usual didn't bring much. Sucks, but they're still very much a small-time operation in North America.

I spoke to Colin from Apex Cycle who was working the KTM booth. He was saying that KTM is doing a big roll out / dealer show in Austria in June... Apparently a lot of revamps coming. Maybe why they were slim this year.

it was a good way to spend some time with friends who have mutual interests, eye ball some eye candy, both with legs and wheels and just sit on some bikes and make vroom vroom noises.

I also sold my GSXR to my friend today and sat on my next bike.....the DRZ400SM is a bigger bike than i thought and i dont look like a bear riding a minibike on it so i'm happy!
