Motorcycle Dry Bags

FYI, the Sea to Summit Big River dry bags have loops welded on to the sides, so you have better options for lashing the thing down. I've got a 35L one that works well.

Surprised noone mentioned kriega, it's what I use and is easy to move between my 2 bikes.

The Kriega bags are much more pricier than the ordinary rack pack or dry sack/stuff bag. $316 for a 40L Drypack vs $149 for a 49L Ortlieb rack pack.

But what you're getting is a very well-engineered product with it's own built-in system of straps, tie-down loops and strap-management clasps. IMO, the value of Kreiga is the modularity, where different dry bag products can be stacked on top of each other, or strapped to the sides to make a larger storage system. All very sturdy, secure, and of course, waterproof.

Also, most of the bags have a removable inner liner velcroed to the shell, which can be taken out for washing. Very nicely thought out:

This picture was taken in Zimbabwe. Or was it Morocco? Maybe Tibet. Or Peru. I dunno. One of those exotic baller places...

Hmm I never really cared for the modularity aspect of it. I mean if you mount a 2nd kriega bag on top of your first kriega bag, now you have something that is ridiculously high and will likely affect handling significantly.

They are a bit pricy but the way I look at it, you are gonna have something that will last for many years so it's only a small amount of money per year. If you search for "uglybros motorcycle bag" on aliexpress you can find cheap copies of the kriega bags, but they won't be as high quality.

Yes but… best backrest ever! My bike used to handle like a pig with it stacked up but it was like riding a lazyboy. Just have to master the one leg leap-jump-slide mount technique to get into the saddle.

One more…this one is waterproof

60l is a bit big, that's the size of a small jockey bag. I like 45l size, the fit nicely on a pillion with a small rack.

Wild Heart brand dry bags on Amazon. By far the best value for a 60L roll top dry bag, at least when I got mine last year. Looks like they've gone up to about $105 for the 66L, still great value. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B089QD3H3G/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_0939MJSXYTXMD77KGMR2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Heavy material, lots of d-rings for tying down and an air valve so you can compact it down properly. Even comes with tie-downs.

I have one of those CTC Expedition "dry" bags as well. They work fine for light drizzle, but the zippers aren't water-tight. After a few hours in a driving rain your "dry" bag will be full of water.

What no love for hockey bags? That bag has a lot of miles on it. Up the JBR twice including a run to the end of the Taiga.
