Motorcycle death statistic in GTA

I wear full race gear when I ride. When I see another biker in shorts and flip flops... I nod my head and wave. That's it. No more stupid atgatt crap. Capiche :)

Stop beating a dead horse already!

The last 2 days I have been squiding it it got hot during the day so I wore a long sleeve shirt, jeans, boots & gloves...I don't give a rats ass what others think!

Back on topic... there were definitely way more deaths in the GTA in 2011 than the 2 mentioned in this spreadsheet but the title of the doc says Toronto so maybe it doesn't include regions outside of York.

What I like to see is a comparison to other major cities that is similar to Toronto and see how we compare.

Cities like LA for sure would have more fatalities but if we look at deaths per total number of riders, maybe they are better??

I feel like something similar to what you're asking for was posted here some time last year... I could be wrong, it might've been an incident report

If you think about asphalt gliding while mounting your bike, take a cage instead. I hope you have an air conditioner in there and surely be safer, though staying at home would bit it all!

Bit dated too but according to statistics seems overall motorcycle fatalities has been decreasing but the percentage of licensed motorcyclists killed has been increasing. Seems odd because that would mean less new people getting motorcycle licenses.

Also Ontario is by far the lowest percentage of vehicle fatalities compared to other provinces.

k...so I googled it but can't find it any where....

What's ATGATT?? ( "all the gear, all the time" ???)

On another note about 650 people die every day in Canada in car accidents vs 0 on motorcycles.

3% of the population in Canada are licensed to ride motorcycles but motorcycle fatalities make up 9% of total fatalities on the road.

The idiot and his friends who live down the street from me in south mississauga will eventually die. They ride their bikes the thru stop signs in the neighbourhood at well over 100 kph.

Hopefully they hit truck and exterminate themselves and not hit a car small car or child crossing the street.

I have seen 5 bikes run a blind stop sign well over 100kph.

It's just ****ing stupid.

I hope you stop wishing death upon people. It's pretty pathetic.

Well if you know who they are and are concerned about safety call the cops and tell them to wait on your street near that stop sign.

That's ridiculous. Who rides through a stop sign at that speed?

people can ride how they want, there is no rule or law saying you have to wear full gear. It's actually very pleasant to ride with just a beater on, during a nice hot day, at cruising speeds, nothing ridiculous, this is my fav way to ride.
Of course if you know ur gonna be moving then it's better to gear up. If somebody is gonna be taking twisties at high speeds u can bet that most of them will gear up.
But just a basic cruise to the downtown core or to the beaches, many a time, helmet and gloves it enough for me.
