Motorbike/ Scooters exploration

Hi fellow riders.

Just wondering. Where would be a friendly fun place to rent a scooter and explore. Obviously somewhere nice n warm.

I've done the renting a scooter in Vietnam (ha Giang loop, HCM trail) and other countries, and ridden motor bikes here in Toronto.

Aside from South East Asia. As it's far away and a long flight. What would be another country or place where I can rent a scooter and ride around and explore. Looking for a place that's cheap and affordable like SE-Asia. If that exists? somewhere just outside North America. I'm a back packer type so I have no issue strapping back pack and a bag to travel around with.

Any suggestions and information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The obvious choices are Central or South America, or Europe. Depends what sort of adventure you would like to have. Paging Lightcycle ...

Rented scooters on some Greek islands. On one island it was cheaper than a water taxi. Not sure any of that is helpful.

Italy (or at least Rome) had tons of people riding scooters. Maybe check what the going rates are there? You know the roads will be good.

Scooters are cheap enough that locals will probably own one if they need one.

For a rental, you'll be best finding a touristy place that caters to foreigners.

SE Asia is definitely the cheapest, but other places might be one of the Caribbean islands, like Cuba, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, etc.

As mentioned above, Latin America can be pretty cheap, probably a resort in Mexico or maybe an island in the Honduras, but then it might be a bit dangerous wandering off the resort by yourself. Depends on your situational awareness. Caye Caulker in Belize might be a safer option.

While scooter rentals might be cheap in Europe, everything else, like food, lodging and gas, will be quite expensive. We were in Santorini and prices were eye-watering. Not a good place for a backpacker. Cheapest places for cost of living in Europe would be Spain and Portugal. Never rented a scooter there though.

Taiwan is on our bucket list. Huge scooter culture there, but I haven't done any research into prices yet.

Barcelona is city scoot heaven ....far more of them than motorcycles and laws seem to favour two wheels.
Every street is lined and with filtering each stop light was a slow motion drag race of dozens of city scoots, a few maxis and motorcycles.
I suspect a ton of eThings on two wheels now as well.....been a few years since I've been.

I really like Barcelona, one of my fav cities and I'm not a fan of cities at all. Covers your bases tho not sure about "cheap".

I've rented scooters in Las Vegas, just for puttering around the strip etc. Well before I started riding a motorbike.
Spain is also a great recommendation.
