Planning on going down April 11-14

Any thoughts or recommendations?

Hotel?
General Admission vs Grandstand?
Pit Passes or no?

Thanks

I went last year and had a blast.

I would go grandstand seating (I did), but get someting above row 25. I was at Turn 15 grandstand closes to turn 16. With GA you do not get to go into the stands for practice etc like indy.
Driving to the track is the only real way to get to the track so don't forget parking passes. I stayed a little north of downtown and it was fine but I would stay anywhere south of the capitol building north of the river, west of I35, east of Lamar. You may see some riders too. At a bar/resturant on 6th Andrea Iannone came in to eat while we were there. We didn't get paddock passes, I don't think they had them last year. Sounds like fun though.

Make sure you get out to vist the Salt lick BBQ (it's BYOB BTW).

I also went last year.

It is an enormous facility and I think grandstand seating might be a waste. We walked to a dozen different viewing spots over the three days. There are lots of good options for general admission.

We stayed at The Hampton Inn (not the one closest to the Airport) and it was fairly close to the track. I also agree that a rental car and parking pass are must-have.

On a related note.. if you go you absolutely must go to the Grist Mill in Greune and The Salt Lick in Driftwood.
