MotoGP 2025 Discussion Thread *Warning: Spoilers allowed*

The option I use is REV TV (channel 1414) on Bell Fibe $4/ month. Also available on Rogers 540

Fine for the casual viewer like me as it only shows the Sprint and the race but no qualifying or practice.

Also includes WSBK and lots of car racing including IMSA
This is what I'm doing his year, setting the PVR to record on Rev. First year in ages I haven't ponied up for the MotoGP.com package, but I didn't watch much except highlights past about the halfway point of the season last year, and I expect to watch even less this year. Will check back in when one of the other manufacturers can compete again, I guess, likely in 2027 with the new regs. Looks like at least Toprak agrees with me in WSBK about the supreme dullness of yet another Ducati Cup series.

Speaking of Rev, they also carried TT coverage last year, and I enjoyed the heck out of it. Some surprisingly great racing, and the coverage is really good with lots of action cams. They also carry some WRC, along with shows like Motorhead Garage, to give me '90s flashbacks to Speedvision/Speed Network before Fox ruined it by making it the NASCAR channel. I'll just flick on Rev to see what random sports car even they have on and usually end up thoroughly entertained. Worth every penny, for sure.

Marc Marquez win at the Thai GP with Ducati after many attempts with Honda got me thinking. Is it the bike that determines the winner?

RE: Where to watch, REVTV is holds the Canadian rights. If you have cable & its on your cable companies line up it's probably around $5/month

Personally I've subscribed to Videopass for over 10yrs, my rate is lower due to grandfathering (119 EUR /yr) at renewal that was about $178 CAD, to sooth the cost I break it down per race weekend. At renewal that made it about $8 and change for a race weekend. Less than I spend on many other things & cheaper than when I travel to see it live. Video pass also has a bunch of docs & old seasons to watch.

I'm not a MM fan, but this "redemption" arc has me cheering for the charming bastard. We'll see when Martin hits the track as I was rooting for him to win it all last year since I tend to root for the underdog. Ai Ogura impressed the hell outta me this race, lets see if he can keep it up all season.

I gave my wife a Patreon sub to "The Race MotoGP" podcast & now that my commute is all car I find I have time for it and the Oxly Bom podcast too.

It really depends on how much better the best bikes are compared to the rest of the field, as well as how talented or how compatible certain rider's styles are to the bike. So many variables.

The 800cc Desmos were real stinkers as was Ducati's first attempt at the 1000cc. All that was masked by Casey Stoner who wins the WC with what was essentially a bucking bronco, while his team mate Marco Melandri comes in dead last every single race. Ducati even sent the poor guy to a sports psychologist fer chrissakes cause they didn't believe anything was wrong with the bike. Then they sign a whole bunch of big names - three World Champions, in fact - and even Rossi, who is inarguably one of the best riders ever to have sat behind bars, couldn't make that POredS go fast.

Based on all results, I'd say the last few years of Desmosedicis are far and above the rest of the field, and apparently universally rideable by anyone with any style. Also, last year's GP24s were much faster than the previous year's GP23s. MM93 was constantly knocking on the back doors of the factory boys, but now on equal footing, you can see how much the rider influences the results.

Dumb question. What are the options to watch MotGP in Canada? I don't have any tv/cable subscription.

Easy: I think this guy is in Brazil. Get a popup blocker: MotoMundo.Net Has World SBK too.

Normal: You can get 4K torrents from here, look for the ones by smcgill https://www.reddit.com/r/MotorsportsReplays/

Hard: Pay for it.

The bike doesn't determine who will be the winner, but, with one exception, it does seem to determine who won't be.

Before 2024 season, Ducati had won the last 9 races of 2023 in a row as well. If Vinales hadn't won in COTA, they'd be on a 29-ish race winning streak.
