Correct. Same person.
Sorry to hear - met him a few times, was an interesting character! God Speed.
I'm lost for words, and I have cold unsettling feeling in my stomach.
I had saved a draft in a PM to tell him about some news that may have helped with streaming stuff and never hit send as I was waiting for a contact to come through this weekend. Now none of that matters, and I wish I had just reached out more often just to chat about random stuff.
We'd go months without talking and sometimes his inbox was full he and was unable to respond as his work schedule took a toll on him, and then his young daughter came into his life and things seemed positive; even during COVID he was pretty upbeat and talking about being fully booked with work stuff.
We never met in person, but we had a lot of banter in PM throughout the years: he and I went through the whole DORNA take down and the server shut down thing and we had a ton of laughs throughout that whole year--we joked DORNA would have to hire him as seemed more competent than their whole tech staff as his streams always stayed up.
And that's who I want to remember, the guy who rather than watch the races by himself went out of his way to make all the stuff in the background happen because he just wanted everyone to just come together, forget our concerns for a few hours every weekend and just enjoy what little time we have on this Earth.
You will be missed, JC!
PS: How can we help with the funeral arrangements? I'm sure we can all pass the hat and make something happen.
