The liner is just fastened to the helmet with snap tabs and velcro, so you can easily remove it for cleaning. If they weren't secured very well, it could come undone and slip down.
Admitting that and potentially pissing off a sponsor (Nolan) might not have been very smart, though...

And he left Nolan awhile back. He's with HJC now. Funny, my buddy sent me this linke how Yamaha was actually asking HJC to redesign their helmet just this year:

Maybe it's painful, dangerous, or he thinks it's gonna get worse. Heck, as Honda I'd be damn happy with the race he put on! If he can do that all year I don't see the problem.
