Motogp 2013

The bike that Stoner did really well on doesn't exist anymore and it never will. Many changes have happened since then.
Even if Stoner came back next year on a Duc, i highly doubt he'll do any better than Rossi did unless Ducati redesigns the bike completely to make it on par with the Hondas and Yamahas.

my favourite stoner quote, and paraphrased is "i'm not pushing that hard, i havent even started pushing fronts yet." Stoner is probably the only rider in the world who can drift the front tire of a gp bike on corner entry. The problem is that works for downhill, off camber type corners, but on long sweepers you have to rely on edge grip. The season stoner finished second on the Duc was for no other reason than because of how many get offs he had where the front would just give without warning. There is no one else in the world willing to ride a bike on the other side of every limit imaginable, and even if stoner came back he probably wouldn't be willing to do that either. Until Ducati can come up with a bike on par with the other bikes in the field they wont be competitive with any rider.

This seems like a death sentence for Cals career. Very unfortunate.

His salary will get a slight bump from about $300,000 to $5 million... Allegedly.

Woah... He's still on a GP bike, he gets his factory support, his factory salary, and at least the chance to make something of the late Desmo's.

Not hard to see why he moved, but I was just getting used to seeing him run with the pack.

 okay i cant fault him one bit for that. I dont think you'd find anyone who'd give up 9.4 million dollars for "the love of the game" so to speak.

Only time will tell if Cal can ride that Duc into podium contention.

And speaking if time, only 10 more days until Indy starts up!!!!!!! :D

Hayden will most likely ride a Honda in WSBK. He's had a couple offers already.

From the slowest prototype in MotoGP to the slowest factory bike in WSBK. Solid plan.

hahahaha, you nailed it. I refuse to believe he would sign with Honda unless they're bringing out a brand new package. :( Good lord, Rea is clearly an excellent rider and that bike sucks!! I know when rain comes into play he can win but that's definitely not the 1000RR

Rea is a beast, which is the only reason that bike is getting podiums, let alone wins. He needs to move up to MotoGP, and I'm hoping that there is an announcement shortly about that. There hasn't been any news about his contract in WSBK, so it's still a possibility (and he was visiting a lot of people during the German GP).

I was under the impression that there will be a new Honda package for next year though, like their V4 bike they plan on making, or at least an update to the CBR1000RR. Oh well.

Well, I hope that all counts of this are correct, or I would also accept Hayden and Rea as team mates on a brand new Honda. I might even have to order a Team Shirt if that were to happen, and I ride a Yamaha! :D

With Dorna controlling both WSBK and MotoGP, I wonder if both series will continue to exist, especially given the fact that the non-MSMA category in MotoGP is essentially WSBK on steroids.
