MOSPORT - August 22nd!!!

sorry for off topic, but can someone post a couple of links or PM me directly for the mid ohio track. I googled but only got race school info.

Thanks

Calabogie is great for so many reasons. But if you're unsure of the run off then try Mid Ohio. Kinda like a Calabogie for turns and elevation changes with tons of run off. And garages with power and air. And no mosquitos. And closer than Calabogie for a lot of west enders.

Thank you for sharing this information! Also thanks for the details in the subsequent posts you made regarding the track.

He said that it was their last trackdays this year that they were hosting and they were not sure if there would be trackdays for bikes next year. He also said to me at the show when I booked it that they only got limited track days as compared to other years and he was really unsure if they would be offered days next year as CTMP was taking the track in other directions. There is no doubt that Pro 6 has had a good relationship with Mosport over the years as they have always hosted quite a few days there and they are well organized. So there would be no reason for CTMP not to want them back. I am trying to read between the lines but I am hoping I am wrong and there are days there next year. I have also heard the rumors of them redeveloping some of the other tracks at the complex so maybe they will build a track more for bikes. Time will tell I guess.

I cant wait, I have only been to TMP, and the comments about $250 price seems more then justified to me just from watching video of Mosport. TMP is only $100 because the track layout could be layed out in a parking lot with cones, with no elevation at all. Bottom line Mosport makes TMP look like a go cart track, so I believe Im going to get what I payed for on this one. Im not sure about the rest of the track facilities and management, but I have a good feeling they are all going to be a level up from the smaller tracks.

Its all about the fast flowing track.

The only off track facilities i use are the washrooms.

In between sessions you feel pretty disconnected from the track unless you walk out to corner 1 or 2 to watch.

Cant wait.

I was just told this week that CTMP is removing the oval and go cart track .. and replacing it with a 3 km track which will now host the bikes instead of the big track.

Sources say that it will be firmed up by late september. So that organizers can have dates picked out for the 2014 track day season.

I was by there on Wednesday. There is heavy equipment on the oval and it look like they're taking down the stands.
If they're this far along there should be a layout for the new track. It would be nice to see what they have planned.

You'll hate it, it's horrible, the corners are boring and TMP gives you the same experience, you should sell me your spot and save your self the $ :)

I have done 3 sessions this yr at ctmp...what a blast and will do my last on on the 22.respect the track and your fellow riders and all will be good

From My house according to google

Calabogie - 5 hours 36 minutes

Mid-Ohio - 4 hours 29 minutes

I know which one I'd pick.

I've been on both and they are both great. There is more to chose from accommodation wise around Mid Ohio. The only issue with going to the states is having proper medical coverage in case you have an incident.

How does one go about getting medical coverage for the US, which will cover injuries from an accident at the track? Any details appreciated.

I do Mid Ohio at least once a year. It's a complete blast. It's also an AMA track and the facilities and track are above part. On top of that it's pretty cheap if you run the 2 day package.

Driving time through Fort Erie is approx 6 hours from Toronto though.

We have a regular guy that offers Us insurance for extreme sports including track for a very reasonable price. I don't recall his name or the link right now, will need to look it up.
