Not to sound like a sh*thead ... But I will for the safety of the OP because I want him to make it to the 3 year mark for riding cuz the way he's going he's gonna hurt himself bad.

Dude, just because you know the roads well doesn't mean they are as pristine as the last time you were on it. It's the city so all kinds of fluids, debris, trash, (ever hit a flat pop can when partly leaned over?) especially on any ramps where you said you were leaned over. You said you went to Hamilton but your location is Toronto, so really, how much do you truly know the roads unless you are riding them every day. There's been way too many riders down already, please don't become one of them.

Whether i'm in my car or bike i always ride a route slow and inspect conditions before riding it hard. check for popo, debris, junk etc. Have it a pop can, the wobble scared the crap outta me...not as bad as the squirrel i ran over in a turn. thought i was going to die for sure. F*ck you Rocket "Rocky" J Squirrel.

How does that work? Are they on drugs? I have seen a few on Sherbourne and Dundas asking for a date for 20$. This is messed up! I wish I could help them. Really felt horrible for the person they are about to bring in this world. Anyone ever tried helping them out?

I heard about these women many times from the nurses and dr's at Hamilton General that I am friends with and they don't seem to think there is much hope for these people. It is a really rough part of Hamilton.
They are crack heads or drug addicted for sure is the consensus. Some of them may be mentally disabled as well. I am sure there are lots of organizations out there working to help them. The good thing is, they can walk right into the hospital at any time and get medical attention. You can't help people who won't help themselves.

what red said...dude honestly, the part that gets me about the sympathy for these people....most of them did it to themselves. For most, no one put a gun to their head and said smoke this rock. You can't help some one unwilling to help themselves.

Yes I'm desensitized to the emotional response.

But you don't know how powerful it is until it is too late. And they may have "did it to themselves" because they were depressed or afraid of losing friends or hoping to get friends. Sad situation all round.
Don't know the solution, maybe make it legal and free of charge like in other countries or genital torture for the dealers/smugglers? This in-between type punishment does nothing but make the legal system rich and us poor.

I agree, and i understand the influence of surroundings, but we all have the choices to make too. As for the system...imperfect to say the least...and if you make it legal the problem will get MUCH worst.

I've come to accept it for what it is, just the density of crack zombies in one area was alarming.
