Hi!

Anyone here know of any motorcycle shops around the Flinit,MI area? And yes, I will do a 'Google' search. Hoping someone can provide some personal experience.

Thank you1

Not sure how far it is from Flint, but if you can make it. Go to Sport Bike Track Gear.

Np, I would highly suggest you view their website and see what you want/check to see size availability. Maybe talk to them about giving a discount or something. If you talk to them online or directly they're usually willing to cut you some slack on the price. On the website they have to list the lowest manufacturer suggested retail price and can't advertise a lower price. One on one they'll do ;)

You may also need to call, email/order ahead with SBTG. Not everything is in stock at the local store. I have purchased many items from them, and the more popular gloves, helmets, boots etc need to be ordered in. You can ask for the "Canadian Discount" which is about 6% to counter state sales tax. Some guys will give it to you, others won't. If you email or call Nick, he's pretty good with discounts.

They should start to advertise on GTAM. We give them enough business :P

will they tax you at the border? no, right?

Just came back from SBTG today. Call it a mini-review if you wish.

- Showroom is small, if not smaller than Rider's Choice in sauga. Definitely not like GP Bikes.
- As another poster posted above, they have quite a few things in stock, just in the back that you cant see.
- A good place if you know what you're looking for.
- They don't stock Suomy helmets, but can order them.
- Very well knowledged staff.
- I bought swingarm spool sliders and chain cleaner, declared at boarder and didn't get taxed/dutied.

Theres a place in Chesterfield, MI and they have a fairly big showroom. They also carry some accesories and such .. plus the girls working there are smoking hawt and they ride too.

SportbikeTrackGear is good...

Their showroom is small. Most of their stock is in the back or at another warehouse. Make sure you call ahead to see if they have what you want in stock.

Another +1 for SBTG. Went down this spring and picked up bodywork and a suit, with a discount on the already closeout priced suit. Declared $1200ish at the boarder after only being over a few hours, with reciepts too, and wasn't charged any duty or taxes at all. May have gotten lucky... The guys there were a huge help, tried on multiple suits making sure it fit right, good thing too cause the size I would have picked based on sizing charts would have been way way too big.

I wouldn't be worried about the size of the showroom either. The warehouse portion in the back is massive. Never seen so many isles and isles of suits, they have a huge selection. Call ahead regardless to see if they have stock and different sizes available of what you may be looking for.

Its about 40 minutes over the Sarnia/Port Huron boarder.

Anybody know a place I could get tires installed from SportBikeTrackGear, somewhat local to the store? They don't install them. I'm heading down to Tennessee and I'm finding I really need new tires and it's too late to order from Pete's. Or if there are any other options, please, let me know. I leave tomorrow morning. Looking for a set of Pilot Road 2's.

The guys at STG would probably know better than we would. Have you thought to ask?

They simply stated they didn't do installations and gave no further information. I'll give them a call and see if they can suggest a place.

Called GP Bikes and received an insane quote for tires+installation.

I found a local MI place. I've never gotten tires changed from on the bike before and installation prices seem crazy to me. I was quoted ~$160 for installation alone.

Looks like I'll be using the crappy tires I got. They have the miles left on them I'm just not happy with them and I found that if it gets slightly cold the front tire has really bad properties. When it loses traction it totally loses traction, there's no feel to it at all.
