Michelin Pilot Power Series - Anyone Else Hate Them??

Why compare a Rosso to a Pure and S20? Not in the same price/performance league. The Rosso is a comparable tire to the Power 2CT. Put the Pure/S20 against the Supercorsa (awesome tire)

That's a perfect comparison actually, the Supercorsa is their premium track/street tire and the Power One would be the same equivalent for Michelin. Pure and Rosso are almost identical in price as well.

Rosso II's are SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than the Pures.
Rosso II = 120/70/70 + 180/55/17 = $233.90 + $15 shipping + HST (Pete's)
Pure = 120/70/70 + 180/55/17 = $275ish US + international shipping + taxes (Jake Wilson - cheapest I could find, as Pete's doesn't show them online)

Please do some research before talking out your *ss.

Not trying to be a fanboy of Pirelli - just comparing prices and tire equivilance.
Had a set of Michelin Pilot Roads (not the Road 2 or 3) on my bike, and to be honest, I found them MUCH better than the Pilot Power 2CT due to their lack of squirm and road debris handling ability.

Interesting thread. I guess everyone has preferences and brand allegiances. I've had both the Pilot Power and the Power 2ct with no issues. I bought them based primarily on reviews and they seemed to strike a good balance between price and performance. From what I've read here I dont think Im pushing as hard as some of you guys though. Just recently purchased a set of the Power Pures for 249.00 USD. From what I can remember the shipping was free to my US address, although I did have to pay duty on bringing them across the border. http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/Detail.bok?no=8412

Yup - 2 in the rear. That's why I was taking it easy Tim ;-)

Hooligan!!!
Did they finally give you guys the boot from the old 'hang out' near Hess?
I was by a couple times. Not 1 bike in the lot.

Haha something like that at 1 am the parking by law comes and boots everyone out after the store closes... after some dude got his teeth punched out (literally) feet from my bike over a gawk at some dude's girlfriend, we stopped going there.

As for the rest of the summer, after my Michelin Pilot Powers ran out I ordered those S20s which were taking forever to ship, so I put Bridgestone R10s temporarily that had seen 2 trackdays for $125 installed.. still have the front actually! Once those were on the bike I was having a blast on anything other than a straight road then going down to the Hess hangout after the violence... they didn't last long :( The S20 saw similar action but they won't last nearly as long as the Pilot Powers.. I'm looking at the Pilot Power 3s.. or another set of S20s... In a perfect world, I'd have a spare set of rims for R10s hahaha

Ive ridden like an absolute fool on everything from IRC's to Q2's to PP2CT's to my track scrubs to touring tires.
The PP2CT is the best sport tire I have experienced....except like all modern Michelins I have tried, they wore funky and scalloped on the front before being half worn out. They have awesome grip and are quite confidence inspiring. I can even say they cross boulder strewn rivers and climb half mile long muddy single track hills and calf-deep mudbogs on Jeep trails.
That being said, I choose touring radials now instead.....sport tires just wear out too quickly.

I've had a set of Pilot Power 2ct's on a few bikes and never had any problems... I even did a total of 6 track days on various bikes with them and scrubbed off the edges right to the end ... Michelin man was gone and it was boogered up ... no problems on street or rain. I also ran them at -5c with no problems.

Having said that I am running the Pilot Pures on my track bike ... 2nd season with no problems. However I am going stickier and will be running the Dunlop GP-A's next year

I just use tires that have a cool looking tread pattern.
