Mechanic Shop in Mississauga

When was the last time the bike started and ran?

Wad is under your ownership or previous owner?

What did you do to the bike since the last time it ran (if)?

The emergency roadside towing is just that, for emergencies on currently registered vehicles. So I'm not surprised they didn't tow you. That said, they shouldn't use up one of your tows if you didn't use up one of your tows.
Renting a motorcycle trailer is your least expensive option assuming you have a vehicle that can tow.

But they asked me where my bike was. I told them it's inside my garage, not even on the driveway. Complete honest. I had no idea you needed insurance. When you call them they ask you where you are on the road Emergency Service or home ?

So picture a CAA truck (Splashed CAA all over the truck) pulls over, the guy in Full CAA uniform comes out.

Right way he checked
1) No Insurance
2) Milage to be towed (it is 20km)
And Only then proceeded to tell me.
3) No tow for you......But how about Cash?

Honestly, sounded like Rip off to me?
Cash ? CAA ?
A bribe to do something wrong.

I called them later, I was told he was a contractor. And he has a right to change from CAA service to being a contractor anytime. All the while still wearing CAA uniform and be whatever kind of rude person he wants to be. Best part is getting paid.

If this the case they should have told me on the phone I need insurance. They asked lots of other questions. In my view it is bad business.

When you plan on doing this? I’m fairly close but time is very limited this weekend to help out.

Trailer is going to have the chock mounted tomorrow evening (if things go according to plan).

Take your sticker off. They're useless at this point anyway. Push your bike to the nearest parking lot and then call
Unless CAA made a note that this vehicle isn't insured.

I'd focus your energy on helping us diagnose the problem for you. If it was running before being parked, it's likely a simple fix and might be able to get it started before you could find a tow. So please answer the questions we've all been asking, especially year, make, model, when it last started/ran properly, any changes/work performed or how long it's been parked since, and a video if possible.

We probably would have had the issue solved by now.

Hello Everyone. Thanks for Amazing replies. Both in showing me how to repair (Brian) and shop recommendations (All others.) I have decided to go with Steve - Motorcycle Mechanic. (Thanks Relax.)

Here is where I got stuck. Set up a time with Steve. Called and booked my Tow with CAA.

CCA showed up. Right from the start the guy seemed like he was annoyed. He immediately ran to the back of the bike and took pic of plate. I had not taken my old sticker off.

Says to me..I need to see your Insurance!
I told him, I don't have it. That's why I need to take it to mechanic and get it ok to run and make sure she is safe.

No insurance No tow he says.
Get this....Then he said....Unless you pay!
I said what?

He immediately called CCA....put them on speaker phone....Girl on phone says yeah yeah...we need Insurance.

Also while he is holding for CAA, he asked me for destination....goes oh that's only 20 Km. I am like....what difference does that make? I am covered for 200.

Then he starts to go away smiling. I told him....well it's your loss.

His reply....Nope...I got paid!

I called CAA back....They used one of my tow call without touching my bike.

So disheartening guys.

So my next question, you guys know anyone in towing. I called a number they wanted $320 for 20km in Mississauga.

... Sigh. Ok let's review this one more time...

Home insurance, CAA... it's all the same structure: Take the customer's money, and hope they never take you up on what you sold them.

Me: Are we covered for water damage in the basement?
Insurance: No, that's more money.
Me: Ok add that on.
Insurance: Ok we'll take even more money.
Me: Ok.

(two months later)

Me: My basement flooded.
Insurance: We'll send someone over to take a look.
Me: Ok
Insurance: The water damage in the basement is not covered.
Me: But I have water damage in the basement coverage.
Insurance: That's for damage from within the house, like a pipe breaking. Your damage is from groundwater coming up. You aren't covered for groundwater in the basement.
Me: So if I had broken a pipe before you got there, I would have been covered.
Insurance: Yes.

Moral of the story: They're really good at taking the money, but they aren't profitable unless they keep the money.

Second moral of the story: I would never recommend committing insurance fraud, but, breaking a pipe before the insurance person comes to look could save you tens of thousands of dollars... Having your stuff together before CAA arrives could save you a good chunk of change too, because they work the same.

My dad has a CAA account and we have used it several times, mostly for him but I think I have used it a couple of time. On a few occasions he wasn't even with the car.
I am always the one that has to call CAA due to a language barrier.

However, we have never had any issue with them coming and providing service or two, especially the times when the card card holder wasn't present.

Hey Brian. I am Winston Churchill / 403. Unfortunately two ends of Mississauga. Hence 20 KM. But all highway miles. And I would be willing to pay a fair price. I just can't get robbed.
I also live at 403 / WC.
Feel free to message me with your address and I'll see if I can help you get the bike over to a shop.

Hey guys. Sorry I am new here.
I might be posting this in the wrong section.

I need help with my sports bike won't start.

Any recommendations for repair shop in Mississauga? Been calling Riders choice and getting sorry we are currently busy message.

What bike you have? model, year? Does your bike have an immobilizer? Lots of member have plenty of experience fixing bikes I would take on first before heading to the $hop

Well.......... It always helps to actually read the policy or ask questions to confirm what you have purchased.

Roadside tow coverage is exactly that. You're away from your home in a vehicle that is registered (and insured), you have a mechanical issue and you need to be towed to a place to get it repaired. I think CAA has realized that people have been misusing the service to get a non running or not registered or not insured vehicle to a repair facility and now they are asking for proof the vehicle is actually in regular use. Doesn't seem unreasonable to me.

Edit..........

I looked at the CAA towing list of exclusions and it could be more explicit in terms of tows not covered. It should say explicitly that unregistered, uninsured vehicles are not covered for a tow to a repair facility.

But if they made that clear and obvious, they might make less sales... Profits over people, that's what's important, right?
