For those who doesn’t follow moto YouTube much - Max Wrist quit riding street for good and switched to track days and racing.
And he’s winning some races in their local California Road Racing series. And of course his adventures are very well documented - fun to see amateur racing in USA..
So, ppl do change and everyone deserves a second chance, right?
Or you would keep giving him crap and hate? ;)

Cool.

Yammienoob seems to have turned over a new leaf as well. Went from UltraSquid to UltraSafetyAdvocate seemingly overnight. I don't watch his channel, but see his thumbnails on my recommended list all the time, and they're all like: "Why new riders should buy the best gear they can afford!", and all I can think is, "Wasn't this the same guy that hit a Porsche head-on and crippled the driver in the process?!?"

People can change, I know YN certainly got his lesson. Now he regularly tells people not to buy fast bikes for their first one.

But I dunno about Max. We'll see how he does but I suspect we'll see him doing dirty things. A leopard doesn't change its spots.

I dunno. You can certainly tell a lot about someone's character by watching what they do instead of listening to the words coming out of their mouths.

I watch Spite's Corner a little bit and know him primarily from when YM fired him on camera to squeeze viral content out of it.

That's who YM still is, despite the do-gooder image he's trying to promote right now.

Max spent years making money by encouraging and glamourizing the behaviour that has contributed indirectly to some deaths. I very much disliked him during that time and felt the world would be a better place without him.

I'm glad he changed. No dislike of him anymore. Though I hope he adamantly encourages and glamorizes taking it to the track to undo his net (negative) impact on the motorcycling community.

Step 1) Sell your soul to make it big

Step 2) Repent and be born again so all is forgiven

It's a really common play. Go look at how many rock stars/celebrities/etc. leave a trail of bodies behind them, and then find Jesus so they can be the good guy.

To be totally fair though: I've had a few interactions with Yammie Noob, and the dude was always super supportive of me and my channel. Even when I gave him criticism on his handling of the situation with Spite he was quick to own up to it and leave a very public mea culpa on a video I made.

I think we need to keep in mind how important context is:

Yammie lost his father when he was young. They were really close. That's why he started his channel in the first place. To show his dad him riding.

I can't remember how old Yam was, but I lost my dad as a 23 year old motorcyclist. My mother and I don't really get along or speak much, so I went from having a family to basically being an orphan. I made some of the biggest mistakes, and did things I'll regret forever, as a result of not being able to deal with that loss. You're running on a young man's energy, a 20 year old's testosterone, and a big hole in your heart. You don't have the life experience to keep you from making bad choices.

I'm not saying this to try to excuse or justify any of my behavior, or Yam's... I'm just sharing to explain it. We were kids without dads and the kids were not alright.

Which leads us to Max Wrist.

Guy is what, mid to late 40s? What the **** is his excuse?

And again, for context ...

Max Wrist was found guilty of....
  • Sodomy: Three specifications of sodomy
  • Attempted Sodomy: Two specifications of attempted sodomy
  • Assault: Two specifications of assault consummated by battery.
  • Assault on a Child: Two specifications of assault consummated by battery upon a child
  • Aggravated Assault Upon a Child: One specification
So when you share his videos @Sochi , be sure you remember what crimes it is you're forgiving. If you're cool forgiving multiple counts of rapes, assault, and beating children, then yes, you should totally forgive him and share more of his videos.
