Mastercraft Maximum Torque Wrenches On Sale Again

Get the big and small. Big one with more torque for engine mounting bolts, smaller for case bolts, bodywork bolts etc. I use mine all the time to make sure everything is in spec.

I have both and there's a gap...big one starts at 50ft.lbs and small one maxes out at 20ft.lbs. And there's no "middle" one...how dumb is that. Having said that there are great for the price.

Not much of a gap......the 3/8 covers 4.5-29.4 Nm, where the 1/2 covers 33.9-345.7 Nm.

A 3/8 drive that starts at 30 ft/lbs would be pretty damn useless for a motorcycle IMO. Considering majority of the bolts on a motorcycles that I use a 3/8 drive for require less then 30ft/lbs....

3/8" drive are listed in inch / lbs. 1/2 Drive are listed in ft/lbs.

None the less... have both 3/8" drive and 1/2" drive....neither of them click every single ...neither of them are calibrated.

The big one is good to use as a tank stay.

by the way, does CDN tire handle Mastercraft warranty? I picked up a tool set but these little retainer clips inside the adapters broke. wtf like the first time I used it. Should have bought the Stanley but this one came with spark plug sockets.

The mastercraft tools are made by stanley. However, the warranty on mastercraft is amazing - just bring the tool in (no need for receipt if it's a lifetime warranty tool) and they'll simply replace it there on the spot. No waiting or shipping required.

And Mastercraft Professional are made by Snapon. Canadian tire stores are excellent for the tool warranty as jsv650 already said.

Don't think their snap-on - it would be odd that they'd have stanley for the regular, and not use them for the pro level (Stanley's pro line is MAC tools). Also, not all tools are from a single supplier - many come from Danaher (MatCo tools). From everything I've seen, Snap-On has never made a tool for Canadian Tire.

Interesting. I'd been lead to believe they were Snap-on since they switched from Grey tools back in the 1980's.
Learn something new every day :)

This sounds awesome. Hope I don't get a tugjob when I'm there. Also found a broken clip in the case so have to go through the tools to figure out which one it came from!

No need for torque wrenches, just tighten the bolt till it snaps. then back it off a quarter turn, works every time.
