I did A LOT of research on the 1000RR vs the 750. The final deciding factor was insurance. With the 750 being $500~ a year cheaper than the 1000 and the purchase price was also $1000 cheaper, I figured I could just dump that money into cosmetic mods (which I damn well did).

The only apparent problem with Honda's are a burning oil issue. However, compared to the GSXR, there are HUGE array of recurring issues including: gear position sensor, cold start problems, and bike going on fire (there is a recall on this). So he is right, Honda's build quality is higher.

I'm happy with my purchase so far though, only issue I have is the occasional GPS issue...so meh!

He said fit and finish.

btw all bikes have issues.

Honda has had that oil burning issue since the last gen CBR.
I know two guys that Honda bought the bikes back from.
The CBR 600rr has issues too.

That was the only consistent issue I managed to Google up a few months back. Didn't seem too alarming too me lol

As with regards to fit and finish...again, to each their own. A big reason why I purchased the GSXR was because it was

#1. Black
#2. Single eye

However, angel eyes look infinitely better on the CBR, R6 and Z6/636 =P

Lol you wish. Wanna see my strips? Sorry if I like quality products and yes honda are known to be more reliable.

The 2010+ 1000rr has no burning oil issue. If you ever decide to get one owners say stay away from 2008 and even some 2009s have them.
