Hey guys, thought I'd give you a heads-up about this event happening in Toronto and across the globe on May 25th.
The March Against Monsanto.
http://www.march-against-monsanto.com/

This is the Toronto Event http://allevents.in/Toronto/March-Against-Monsanto-Toronto/466960883376483

If you want to find out more about Monsanto and their involvement in the food we eat every day watch these 2 documentaries:

The World According To Monsanto

and

People would rather march from coast to coast in a blizzard for a new Iphone.
Good luck with this.

Thanks Rorider.
I can't make it out to this. Hopefully there will be a good turnout and it will get some decent media coverage (doubtful- there is more important stuff to report on---like why the TTC driver was responsible for the Leafs loss when he didn't let Lindsay Lohan out of rehab to get off the bus to go kill a dude for his truck...). Will spread the info about this event to my friends anyway.
If there was ever a multinational corporation to protest against...
Hope some people watch the links you posted. Scary ****.

I suggest watching Food Inc.

How about something useful, like a protest against overpaid cashiers and stock boys going on strike?

Screw em , let em go. buy from the wineries that are direct sell and make a run to Buffalo and stock up, declare the booze and pay the gst/duty. It comes out the same as buying from LCBO.
Or stockpile today, it never goes bad.

I hate unions, and their ilk.

This is actually a bit more important than that. It's about our food which affects us and everyone else on planet Earth.
Like someone said above, watch Food inc and you'll understand.

Just another useless protest. Don't people have better things to do with their time.

Are you suggesting people should shut up, fall in line, stop questioning anything and accept what they're given?

no, but they're are more important things to worry about in life then some political BS.

This is the first and last time i will probably reply to your ignorant comments.
You have no clue what you're talking about. Get informed and try to pull your head out of your ass!

I forgot we all have to agree with your BS protest, or something's is wrong with us. They don't give a rats ass about our health, it's all politically motivated, so go protest about something most people don't care about. It's obvious by the lack of support here that most on here aren't interested.

rorider - Thanks for posting. Personally I'll look into attending.

As much as I disagree with most of what oilycreek said, s/he has a point in saying that this topic is not likely to garner any enthusiasm from GTAM members. Most active posters here are generally uninterested/uneducated in issues of social justice, and moderators are quite lenient in allowing senseless ridiculing. As someone who actively works on social justice initiatives myself, I've decided it's not worth the uphill battle (yet) - better to enjoy the site for just the motorcycling stuff. But I would be interested and supportive if you had these things to bring up.

k, continue to eat **** food, get sick, use health care we all pay for while filling the pockets of pharmaceutical companies that have no interest in actually treating you.

It's quite funny, people care more about what gas they put in their bike than what food they eat.

Of course there are. Important things like the potential toxicity of our food.

What does political BS have to do with this topic?

I'm sure you and the OP both use cell phones, which cause cancer, but wow don't eat certain foods lmao. My brother was the biggest health nut anyone could know. He only ate free range, and organic foods. He took vitamins, and could teach anyone about healthy eating. He was a health guru. Hike mountains on a daily basis. He was the healtiest person I knew, and he lived that way right up to Jan. 31 2011 19 days before his 57th birthday, that's when he passed away from cancer. So I can eat as healthy as possible, and maybe live long, maybe not, or I can eat what I want and not worry about it. I don't live in fear of dying. I had test done 6 months ago, and was told I was as healhty for my age. Not bad for a guy that eats more fast food then a third world refugee that inherited a McDonalds.

This protest is a typical political protest, if it wasn't it wouldn't be happening. If people are worrried about it, then eat different foods. Why the need to protest. We choose what we eat, I don't need anyone telling me what not to eat.

This tells me it's political BS.
For too long, Monsanto has been the benefactor of corporate subsidies and political favoritism. Organic and small farmers suffer losses while Monsanto continues to forge its monopoly over the world’s food supply.

Yes yes, in your world cops are straight, politicians want the greater good, and corporates care about the public.

As for your brother, thats one example. Overall its proven a good diet is benefical for health. Problem is these days it's hard to get quality food. Organic doesen't necesarly mean its good.
