Remember...92-93..Pat Burns...Cliff Fletcher...Wendel Clarke...Doug Gilmour...? Some freakin heart is what we need.
 
Sure it might not hurt, but that still might not be enough .... I think they would function/play a lot better if they played in a tougher market. Here, the revenues are up regardless how they play (which would be the opposite in any other market), so you get what you get. Touch their revenues and you will see (I know that they keep saying that "Don't you think we don't want to win, we would make even more." ... but that's not the same as loosing what you've enjoyed before.
 
can we just remove the "professional" designation from them already? "Professional" hockey team.....right.

I say we just switch the teams.
Bring up the Marlies, and send the entire Leafs team to the AHL.

Who knows, they might just score a goal....or. *gasp* win a frickin game or 3.
 
I just want a GM that doesn't trade draft picks and/or young talent away. At least if a team stinks, we can hope to draft a quality kid from the minors. We don't even have that.

The minute Brian Burke traded 2 first round picks for Phil Kessel, I knew it was going to be the 'same old poop, different day'. Get ready for even more years of purgatory.

Especially when the kid in Boston is doing pretty good for himself.

Yup. And let's not forget that other memorable trade Tuukka Rask for Andrew Raycroft.

Also, if you want to go far back enough, toronto traded its pick to NYI to get Wendel Clark. NYI selected Roberto Luongo with that pick.

This is the issue with the leafs.....when Brian came in he had a chance to do this right...meaning hold on to the draft picKs and let the team stink for a few years. Thats all he had to do really...the fans would of accepted that because eventhough the season was a write off the fans saw a high draft pick in sight...maybe the next Crosby or Ovechkin. It would at least gIve the fans some hope for a bright future. But nope....the Brian got here he says...I'm the new sherrif in town and I'm going to speed up this process by trading for a guy that boston SAT OUT IN A PLAYOFF GAME. So now all the fans have to look forward to is this.....and guess what people...this is going to last for a few more years....and don't even think about the cup.....this team strives to just make the playoffs. Those are some pretty sad goals in my mind.

LOOK AT ME....I'M BRIAN BURKE....I'M GOING TO CHANGE THE CULTURE OF THE MAPLE LEAFS DRESSING ROOM.

How is that working out for ya. hahahahaha. I used to be a leaf fan....now I'm just a fan of watching the leafs shooting themselves in the foot, you know what....I'm glad I did....find it alot more fun.
 
i haven't written them off, they have some key pieces now..

its sad to say it but we need to trade kaberle...

also beauch and kommie and bozak...
i like them both but they're not worth the salary hit anymore.
Move all 3 and thats over 11 million we have +the 4.4 we have right now and we got some cash to go after some decent talent.

also giggies contract ends this year, so thats another 6 million we'll have free.


all this and we still keep kessel, armstrong and phenuf to build around we'll still have kadri, d'amigo and some decent support from kulimen and grabo..
 
I've lost my passion for this team. I really enjoyed going to the games and watching them on the tube but I realilized I wasted my life on these ungratefull people. I get free tickets all the time, I just give them to people who really never been or I just don't go. It still cost me big to go, parking, refreahments in the ACC, possible dinner afterwards at some restaurant, it's a waste of time. Myself included, we are all idiots when we watch this team, we are a little more stupid with every game we watch. I've just wasted about 5 mins of my life writing this reply. The Leafs suck ! and so do I for following them, but not anymore...
 
Just got my Toronto Rock season tickets for Christmas.
Not gonna say how much they cost as I don't want the Leaf fans to go into cardiac arrest.
Oh, and by the way they won their division last year and were ahead in the final.
Should be a great year.
I haven't watched the leafs since my grandma gave up her season tickets in 68, when the price went up from $3.50 a ticket or something like that lol.
 
Ok, so I got a free ticket to last nights game against the Bruins. Once again, the Leafs came through with another waste of time. The best part of the whole night is that some guy answered a trivia correctly and won the whole stadium a free hamburger at Harvie's. Just have to show your ticket at the restaurant and get a free burger. The ticket was worth $196.00, hope the burger is worth that ??? THE LEAFS SUCK !!! Why do I even bother...
