Magic in Winnipeg... featuring me!

If it wasn't a switch then I bet it was a resealed pack. 8 of hearts bent slightly to keep track of it? Was it the card that spun slightly a half a turn after the first cut?

2:25 - you go through the deck as if to ensure that they're well shuffled, but in fact you split it when you find the 8 of hearts so it becomes the top card. (In fact the deck wasn't well shuffled because the 7 of hearts was right next to it). Then your 'shuffle' after that wasn't really a shuffle because it kept the top card in place.
Then both times you ask the announcer to split the deck, he happens to choose the pile that was below, so the 8 of hearts remains top card. If he had selected the top pile you would have kept those and told him to toss the other pile, so that the 8 of hearts was still in play, on top. Then you go through the top seven cards and then back through the top seven in reverse so you end up right where you started; 8 of hearts on top. Again, the pack wasn't well shuffled because the first card next to the 8 of hearts was the 9 of hearts!
Had to watch it a few times to get it, so it's still magic as far as I'm concerned.

Who's laughing now inreb?

4:35 "and lets leave the card viewable" his hand is clearly on the card when all the kerfuffle with the newspaper is cleared off.

but never mind, you're on the correct path:lmao:

We have a winner! This is exactly it. Good job fastar1!

A few notes:
-It is a new deck of cards and not resealed. He could have brought the deck from home and it wouldn't have made a difference.
-I could have done this without long sleeves. It made no difference.
-There was no switch of the card at any point. It was unfortunate the card was covered by the newspaper at one point which made it look like I may have done a switch (which would be a lot more complicated)

If you've followed along and got the general gist of the idea now as explained by fastar1 above, I'd urge you to try the trick out on a buddy or friend. You don't have to print the prediction in a newspaper like me as that's a little excessive- but use your imagination. Maybe you can write the prediction on a piece of paper and put it in a sealed envelope. Or something stupid that Criss Angel would do like write it out in pig blood across the side of your house. Use your imagination and enjoy!

That's a beautiful thing you just experienced according to Albert Einstein. Why are you so quick to believe one whose life work is dealing in the realm of illusion? Apology accepted.:p

mystifier do you know the variation of that trick where you put the deck in your pocket?

I'm not really sure what variation exactly you are talking about... or what trick you're talking about. There's probably a million tricks involving putting a deck in your pocket..?
