Machine shop rec....

plus the engineer to safety it

That would be me. Let's not forget about the Pilz PNOZ Multi safety PLC (or Allen-Bradley GuardLogix, if you prefer) with safety DeviceNet I/O modules for each major subassembly, and DCS on the robot with communication through DeviceNet to the safety PLC so that we can prove it's not going to hit the poor operator.

It costs a lot of money to do something very cheaply.

$120 to cut 4 seats is 30/seat. Im new to Canada, and all, but usually cutting seats is 3-7 bucks each, facing valves, half that. Its hardly being cheap to question $30 a seat, then. Im talking JUST cutting the seat, not facing the valve and R&R the guide. Just cutting the seat.

So where in the US they cut seats for 3-7 bucks per?

Whaaaat? We are just talking grabbing a seat cutter and putting it in a damn vice ... LOL

Yep, We have a robot that measures parts at work and there was a wall behind it. I suggested to remove the wall to double capacity and it took a few hours to knock the wall down and a few weeks to get the interlocks fencing and gates installed and signed off by the engineer.

I'm just going to hijack this thread cuz it kinda relates and doesn't need its own thread. Looking for a welder to put a O2 bung on my SS Two Bros pipe. I was going to ask JohnnyP to do it, but it looks like he is out for a while. I have the pipe and the bung and not looking to get it polished afterward or anything.

Weirtech does nice work.
