You need to provide your own vehicle if your doing it with the ministry so yes you do... If you are doing it with a school, they will provide the vehicle.

Don't you still have to provide your own bike for the M2 Exit courses? In which case you will require insurance.

Kinda off topic... But... I heard you're not allowed to shift in the middle of an intersection. Is this true?

That's what I was taught at RTI.

Same goes for G2 and G. But then nobody I know is retarded enough to use pedal shifters during a G2 exit besides me lol

I would first investigate if there is any change in insurance quotes (immediately) after getting an M.

Yes thats true, i personally find it unsafe, i'd rather either shift before entering my turn or just rev the engine hard. When waiting for a left turn, i usually shift up to second gear instead of first and than proceed with the turn. Note: i ride a Ninja 250.

RTI doesn't provide it. It's a refresher course on the road, and you do it on your own bike.

I asked during my M1 exit, i remembered them saying yes but i guess i have terrible memory lol.

That's what I was taught at RTI.

I guess the teachings at RTI are different from the CMA Rider Training Course. When I went to the CMA training we were specifically told you can shift during a turn, of course that was close to 15 years ago so things may have changed since then.

The initial question did not include anything about a turn.

If it did tho, I would say 'That's what I was taught at RTI' again lol but only because it was an entry level course. We were also taught not to open or close throttle right until exit and not to use any of the breaks at any point lol

You mean while u are waiting to turn left you are in second and you start of from second? And u are doing this to avoid shifting from first to second?

.

Then comes the question. Wtf do you do with a CBR125 if you cant shift? Start in 2nd? or ride through the intersection at 11k rpm going 30

wuttt daa craaaap i had no idea you cannot shift in the middle of an intersection . . . im taking my M in May better get into the habit of not shifting . . . im on a ninja 250 lmao

I think they provide it.

No they don't, you must provide your own vehicle for the M2X course.

Yes, shifting in an intersection is pointable on the M2X road test.

It sounds like some of the things get dumbed down and some are mis-interpreted.

We were told at Humber that you could shift during a turn in an intersection, but you'd better be really smooth about it. Finding a false neutral as you are turning through an intersection is not a good thing. It was better to shift before or after the turn.

One option for a 125 would be to shift as you lift your foot up and are travelling straight. Then turn in 2nd.

Wouldn't it just be easier to just stay in second instead of this? Or is it bad to start on 2nd for the test as well

They wouldn't know.

But why not start on the first and rev up as much as you can ?

Aren't you able to hit 20-30km/h on 1st ?

Probably redlining at 30 at which I would be about 1/2 way through the intersection.

I start from first but shift into second before i make the turn. Its a Ninja 250 so starting from second is also possible.

I was clearly talking about a Ninja 250. On a CBR125 you shift mid turn... i never said it wasn't possible...
