M Test Soon;) Advice?????

Head checks - don't wag your head aimlessly, do it for intersections, driveways, bike routes, walkways - anywhere that could result in something coming out and crossing your path. I have lost 2 points for head checks and that's all I was doing, actually checking. As for exaggerated movement - yes it's recommended. If your helmet is one tone then the stripe will help, otherwise don't bother.

Mine is coming up in 3 weeks at Downsview! I spoke to one guy yesterday and they said last year they made him actually "park"... Is that even true? I know of a roadside emergency stop as a test but no one has ever mentioned they were tested on 'proper parking'...

Anyways, wish me luck!

Does anyone know if you have to keep your right foot on the rear brake pedal at a red light stop? Can you put both feet down and just keep the front brake engaged with your right hand? Can you just slow down using the front and rear brake and then put both legs down while still in first gear waiting at a stop-light?

I was told to keep right foot engaged on brake, left foot is down while keeping it in gear. Not sure if they are THAT picky but most definitely the brake light needs to be activated.

I never had both feet down; rear brake was always engaged and bike was never put into neutral (obviously I don't do this during regular riding lol)

Also, I did not duck waddle off red's. I know a few ppl who failed because of that.

Don't go above third gear before you hit the ramp or you may tag the flaming hoop. (They still do that part of the M test?)

Obey the speed limit, use signals, shoulder check in a noticeable way. If you are passing a playground, look at it to check for kids, same goes for schools or other landmarks. When ramping on to a highway, signal early and let it flash for a while before making your lane change.

Good luck!

To add to this, put a piece of scotch tape on the back centre of your helmet so they can see you doing your mirror checks a head movements.
