lubing my clutch cable

i only have pj1 blue label, but that thing is designed to be sticky and not fling...so i thought it might be bad for the cable?

It's still a lubricant and it'll do the trick (mostly abrasion and corrosion protection). In any case you might as well use up that crap before switching to DuPont and everything that gets used on your cables will be the crud you won't have to clean from your chain

i read that pj1 blue is really good for chain... how come you seem to swear by dupont?

Doesn't leave the sticky residue that attracts dirt. Dirt, in addition to being ugly and messy to clean up, creates friction, which shortens the life of your chain.

...i've been pulling in the clutch and putting grease on the small portion of the cable that is exposed for 3 years now...i feel like an idiot lol

Technically, there is a way to even make that work, but it's more trouble than it's worth. Might as well do it the right way. I'd even consider replacing the cable outright if I were you.
