Lowball offers?

The "I'm overseas right now, the price is right, I'll send money and have my agent pick it up" really bother me. It's like there is a script they all use. Then there are the trade ones, like "I'll trade an i-phone and i-pad for your bike", or even better, "I'll trade you two lizards - your choice from the following list" are the ones that get me. Finally there are the "Will you finance?". In a word, NO!

So the lowballs are just part of the game, and easily ignored. At least they define a bottom line for you. In my case, if I don't get what I have in mind I'll just hang onto the bike, and consider laoinging it to my brother or selling it to my niece in a couple of years when she gets some $$$ scraped together. If I'm going to be charitable about it, it might as well be to someone I know.

really?

I love when i get lowball offer's. I am selling a brand new sealed 64gb 3G wifi iPad 2 (MSRP of $849+ tax) with leather iPad Smart Cover (MSRP of $79+ tax), and SIM Card for $800. Some d bag called me and tried to tell me they are selling on some Qbid website for $40-60. I asked him "why are you calling me then?" I also added that they were most likely chinese knock off's at that price. Then I added if he could get one at that price to buy one for me also and I would pay him $200 for it. He hung up on me after saying his daughter just threw the remote through the TV. LMFAO. Karma is a mean b****; hopefully he can find a new tv on Qbid.

I hate it when people put their asking price thousands more than the bike is worth and then complain about "low ballers"

Seriously?

It's frustrating all right!

I was just looking at a few ads on kijiji on a bike that has a Kelly Blue Book value of $4400 and the average asking price here in Ontario I've seen are well over $6000, some even eclipsing the $7000 mark. :(

Give up, you're not going to find bikes selling at KBB prices in Toronto

Yeah, you're right. I'm not really in a hurry to buy now anyway with so little time left in the riding season. I'll definitely keep looking as most of the ads I've come across date back to the beginning of the summer. They'll have to drop their prices eventually if no one's interested.

Right now is prime season to buy. If you think prices are high now, just wait til you see what they are at the beginning of the season
