Love a good barn find...

I had an Omni GLH too, was my mom's car. Would have loved the Shelby version.

I drove one of those pitiful SRT4 Neons -- another snotty little car that costs almost nothing.
I always liked the looks of those SRT4's. Sure they were just a crappy car but they had a great engine that was easily hopped up. I recall in the day people saying they were a $23,000 car with a $13,000 engine. Apparently not very reliable though as I don't see any on the roads anymore.

They were probably also abused too (either actively or just passively by dbags that bought them and didn't stay on top of maintenance).

I test drove one. Decently fun and great noises. I ran the numbers, gave my head a shake and kept the car I had. IIRC, it would have been my car plus $500/mo for 24 months and at the end of that, I would own a neon. Nope.

I wish I didn't see stuff like this that makes me think hmm that could be fun. Wife would find it eventually and ask when I bought it.

That would pull a small trailer with a small motorcycle on it pretty good

I probably shouldn't tell you that my buddy use to have one parked out back and we rode motorcycles over it for 2 years, the tail fin makes it tricky, you have to hit it fairly aggressive and the front windshield is a little bit fragile.

A friend's wife was jealous of his shopping and went full tit for tat. If he bought a new tool she had to get a new kitchen gadget. He gets a table saw, she gets a new sofa. He got into the habit of hiding new tools at a friend's place until they were a bit worn so he could say he got them a long time ago.

Haha, I was in an industrial facility that had an alfa sitting in the reception area. Bosses wife said he wasnt allowed to get a toy car so he bought it and keeps it at the office. She admired it when she came in and they told her it was someone else's car.

My accountant had an up-in-years client and well off. He wanted to buy a Corvette. His wife said no but he could get a Cadillac. So he bought a Cadillac XLR. He admitted to some serious throttle sillies.

Had quite a bit of time to kill during the winter and watched almost all of the Barn find Hunter series on Youtube on the Hagerty channel. Guy goes all around the states and finds some amazing collections similar to the one above. 10-40 min videos.

old girl in streetsville used one just like it for a winter beater, made me sick to see it driving around all rotted out.

I think the minivan saved the day.
They sold a gazzillion Reliants and Aries... and every one of them had a dent on the left front fender, just behind the headlight. I think it was stock.
All but one apparently. My Reliant was mint.
