Looking to buy a 2005 ZX-6RR. Reasonable price?

With only 3000km, that could be the best posed bike in the GTA. I'd check the paint for damage cause if they didn't use a decent sponge to wash that bike you're screwed.

haha, best posed bike in the GTA is right. he probably should sell it!

You have no IDEA What this bike is about / history etc...and how rare it is...everyone has a 636...not many have a 599.

I'd love to own a 03/04 599 and a 05/06 599.

Who cares about rare Id trade 4 599 motors for a 636....The 636 is a better motor all around, unless your racing in 600cc limited class

most people like to think and say "how much difference could 36cc possibly make".......However ride them back to back and its clear...

Most sactionining bodies will allow the 636 in the 600 class now anyhow.

Most people wouldn't be willing to pay extra for this bike because to them the differences don't matter. To a select few out there they do matter. Someday I'd love to have a 1996 ZX-7RR as a collectors item. My dream bike collection would include a Muzzy Raptor. Most readers on here probably don't even know what that is.

minus the exhaust.

Im just speaking from experience riding both bikes, once you've rode these bikes back to back the 600 feels like its running on 3 cylinders in comparison...I blow the 03/04 motors all the time, and while looking for a replacement I always come across the 600's....And its not even an option to me because of the difference

Pretty. I'd put a stock exhaust on it.

I wasn't arguing any of that. For someone looking for a bike to ride every day the 636 would be the horse to bet on. For someone looking for a rare conversation piece or something that will turn into a collectors item one day the 6RR may be a good buy.

Thanks for the correction about the slipper clutch, I am looking for a ride but I'd like to settle on a nice bike for the long run.
It really comes down to loving the look of this particular generation zx, and owning one that has been taken care of initially so I can maintain it properly and have some longevity.
Also the insurance is about 450 less per year so there's that...

send those my way!!!!!!I wouldnt mind a spare 599...unless you already have one for sale?!

636's are way more torque, the 599's are very buzzy

Buy a 636 end of thread...!

Supply / Demand.....if I had money to spare, I would be making a reasonable offer on that bike.

A casual rider would probably wouldn't notice the differences between a 636 and ZX6RR on the streets. The RR would give the rider more options to adjust the bike's suspension, and comes with a slipper clutch. While a 636 with a softer suspension gives more power than a RR. The RR is worth more than a 636 given the extra features come with the bike. That said, I wouldn't pay 7500 for that bike, 6k sounds more reasonable given the age and mileage on the bike.

How much monies?
She is offering 7500, I'll offer 7.
differences is that mine has been ridden every year and has been maintained by myself and ken (kneedragger).
PM for more info. I'm not looking to sell but seeing as I'm buying a Repsol this year, she is just going to sit in the garage.

LoL... She has 3000 KM's on her's, how many on yours?

We both know Km's don't mean anything.
40xxx
My buddy has the same bike as mine with 120 xxx. The engine is not the weak spot on this bike.
To a certain extent... you want 7000$ for an 05 ZX6R with 42,000 KM's since FEB/11?
As I stated earlier, 09's with less mileage are going for more or less the same price.
This belongs in the "Over priced motorcycles" thread in TT!

P.S. What's with the makeover? You didn't drop it, did you?

So I take 2live&ride wont buy it off me :p It's o.k, I wouldn't sell it to you anyways.

To me, this bike is worth $7000 (which I find to be a reasonable price within the overpriced Toronto region). I would not be increasing my benefit for selling it for any less and hence wouldn't. Also, I have not tried to sell the since Feb/11. I believe I gave a one month window period in which I had many offers. I declined them because I didn't see the money in time and ultimately decided to keep it for one more year.

When it comes down to it, everyone would give up some good at some point to increase their marginal benefit. To me, for this good, that is my point.

Anyhow, OP try not to wait until summer. During the beginning of the summer, most people increase list prices.
