I have just got a 06 Suzuki Burgman 400 .. it has a few pieces up front that are busted or missing.. and in particular.. I need a bolt from the steering. it is sort of special, with a shoulder, and a taper head.. which I think locks it ..

I tried Suzuki.. and they show no stock anywhere ,, and bolt is back ordered for a long time..
I went to Zdeno.. and they don't have any Burgman scooters...

I'd like to find a bike someone is parting out.... and I'd love to meet someone with a burgman to have a listen to the engine and tell me if they think it is running correctly...

the bolt I could use is number 5 in this picture

I am in the south Cambridge area

MacDoc has a 650, and knows people who know people.

Have you tried any of the bike salvage yards? Like Peterborough cycle? There is one in Scarborough, London Etc.

I am aware of the location in Kitchener/Waterloo. Been there a few times with my brother to buy better/cheaper misc screws & bolts for his vehicle. You just need to know the specifics of the bolt and cross your fingers they make it.

Other than Zdeno,, I didn't know the other salvage yards... I'll try Peterborough...

I still have to determine if this special bolt is actually necessary.. it has a shoulder and a taper head.. which appears to make it something spaenaur doesn't have.. but I'll try them

thanks!

If you have a schematic showing the dimensions of the bolt, try Brafasco. Nuts and bolts is all they do apparently.

Do you have a picture of the actual bolt ? I might have it in my bin of nuts of bolts - if I have it - its free to you.

so it means "man castle".

The first part of the name >Burg< means a building from the middleage, 1300 - 1600 a.d. A >Burg< ist a old castle, mostly standing on the top of hills. You will find still some, when you travel along the german rivers Mosel or Rhein.
The second part is like the german >Mann< which means in english man.

So the name ist addicted to a man, who lives in a castle.

Since castles/forts were often the nucleus of many towns, then cities, I'd guess it was supposed to translate as townsman, or city dweller. This makes sense considering that scooters are urban runabouts/commuters. Don't know if it's a modern German word or was made to sound German by the marketing team. Suzuki is no stranger to giving decent machines odd names.
