Looking for new naked

Pretty much no dealer but bmw, Ducati or Harley will have a demo bike available. I once asked and was told it was due to insurance.

@bigpoppa was nice enough to inform us that Apex Cycle in Cambridge has some demo models available for different brands.

Also COVID-era high demand/low supply situation means they don't have to give out any test rides and people will still buy their motorcycles.

Pre-COVID, I rode into Maranello Motorrad and asked for a test ride and they were throwing keys at me like:

Hmmmm I'm checking out a nicely modded gsxs750 and a vfr800 today (out of curiosity) working on negotiating this fz09 too Yamaha FZ-09 | Sport Bikes | Woodstock | Kijiji i got him to $7000, what you guys think?

vfr>gsxs all day

its not a naked bike, but V4 bruh

As for that MT, its got low miles but its still an old gen 1, if it actually comes with a full system exhaust and all the extra parts he claims, and both the tires arent old, then Id get it.

keep in mind you're 2k off from a brand new 2021/22 MT09 (base model)
which will be a significant improvement over a Gen 1.

On the V4 train, I am always amazed how cheap Tuono's are. I think there are some reliability issues that I don't know enough about, but damn is it a lot of bike for the money.

nah, thats the previous gen, still a great bike, but I think aprilia/piagio has some great incentives or the ability to knock down the price

that one looks clean as heck, and I would buy it if I didnt already have a SDR

Yup v4 and that was my exact thought too, if the fz comes with all the extras then it’s very tempting, he’s kinda flaky answering questions hmm

Ya, what do you think of the price??
the lack of front pictures always make me suspicious

you said your budget was 7k? Id try to get an older fz09 if I were in your shoes, or maybe try to talk down an owner to fit your budget if its just above your price range.

But if your heart is set on the gsxs then dont let me talk you out of it

I read the ad, hes done a bunch of mods to it, frekey calls modified 'molested'
hes not far off, id pass tbh

Have you gone insurance shopping first?

Don’t know if there is a big price difference between all the models you are looking at.

Maybe a VFR is way more expensive than a Triumph triple ??

Just to throw something else out there, I really enjoyed my 2007 Yamaha FZ1. They don't fall on a lot of peoples radar so sell for dirt cheap, I sold mine in mint shape for $2600 a few years ago.
Weird that you mention that - I comb the classifieds a lot and I usually only see 1st gen FZ1s listed, I almost never see 2nd gens

I just put a deposit on a 2021 Z900 this morning.

I was debating between that, the MT-09 and the Street Triple. The MT-09 has a small gas tank/range, which would probably get annoying after a while. I did like the ergonomics though, and if they hadn't ruined the headlight for the 2021 model, I may have picked it up. I would seriously consider an older model if you don't mind a soft suspension.

The Street Triple looks fantastic but is too sporty for me - the ergonomics weren't that great, plus it was pricier and I'm sure less reliable/more expensive to maintain. You also need to live near a Triumph dealer, which was an issue for me as well.

The Z900 seemed like a really good value all around. Looks great, comfortable ergonomics, 17l gas tank, Japanese reliability. Maybe not as exciting as the other options, but I couldn't find any issues with it.

Welcome!!!

Few quirks I have found..

A) the tall seat does not help your butt very much
B) avoid mods that say 17-21, likely won’t fit like the tail tidy and windscreen
C) consider buying the rear led turn signals like the euro ones have
D) don’t try driving it until the temp reads 40*C, it will throw a CEL but it goes away
E) if you add a aftermarket quick shifter, it can’t downshift
F) the kawasski app is very bad

After breaking it in try custom mode in F and 0 with 94 fuel and shift light to 10500 ^_^

Mine is like a mini ninja 1000 now without the insurance cost.

2nd gens didn't sell too well so there's not too many of them out there. PITA to sell on the used market too, took me a month to sell mine.
