Looking for good tire shop to patch rear tire. Got piece of metal in it, would like internal patch applied (not string plug).
Any recommendation on shops in GTA (prefer North York)? Also prefer to ride in vs taking wheel off.

we will do it if you cant get it done in the city. Dave (905)728-1714

Pics? Is it sliced GOOD or by "piece of metal" you mean a nail or something?

It's like a nail or big staple - can't make pics at the moment.
Rosey Toes - love the guy but he usualy does plugs and I can do it myself.
Completely forgot about Heritage - thanks!

Thank you - I dont think I can ride that far with the hole I have :-)

If it's near the center of the tire (i.e. not close to the sidewall) use tire slime! I used it for 9,000km's in my Pirelli Diablo Corsa III which had three slow leaker holes and one BIG hole (lag bolt, how the F does THAT get in your tire?!) and it sealed it perfect, my tire never even lost 1psi of air over the whole 9,000km's!!! Felt WAY more balanced too!

*Note: The shop that changed my tire (Heritage Auto) charged me a little extra cause after they broke the bead they had to pressure wash the slime outa the inside of the tire so it didn't get in/on their tire machine.

go see ted at rosey toes. i was just there this morning for the exact same thing. piece of metal in my rear tire. i took off the rim and brought it in. got ted to put in a mushroom plug. cost me 30 bucks.

Thanks Jamie, I read your original post - still don't want to put slime in mine.

Thanks - I think that's my only option now. Distributors are out of stock for my tire, Dan at Heritage does not patch tires so Rosey Toes - here I come for mushroom plug! Should at least get me through Nov and Dec (if weather cooperates)

I decided against patching, purchased new rear tire.
As soon as it's on the bike - old one will be for sale. I'll post it in for sale, $100 will make me happy.
It has less than 1000 on it, Michelin Pilot 3, pics will be posted too, size is 180.
PM if you want dibs on it.

Decent deal for someone, I'd buy it if I didn't already have a set of brand new PR3's

Personally, I have no issue running a patched tire. Ran a mushroom plug from Ted for around 8k km, and a string type plug I did myself for around 12k km. That's on two different tires, zero problems in either one.

I don't think I would have any issues running patched tire. It's more psychological for me.
New one from bikebandit just cost me 217 all in (on sale). I called several local shops but response was the same - distributor is out of stock.

I hear ya. I Had to order my PR3's from the states as well

Shameless plug, I have a brand new PR2 120/70 front tire for $120. Match these two up and you have a great budget sport touring tire setup

I can't seem to get a break with my tire! My order was just cancelled - they don't ship to Canada.
I can ship to cbi but don't want to go for just one tire.
Who ships to Canada or may be have this tire localy in stock?

Motorcycle superstore has it for $170, free shipping to the states, I have two $5 off $100+ coupons for Motorcycle Superstore if you need. Not stackable but you could do two separate orders if you need something else

Don't know about cbi, I use usaddressinc, $5 per item
