Looking for advise

I'm a big fan of my GS500. I've done a full season so far and figure I'll stick with it for at least one more. For me, wanting to upgrade has nothing to do with the power. I'd just like something more practical for long trips and weekends out of town. It's a pain installing soft luggage all the time. When I do get a new bike, I might even keep the GS. It's a sweet little bike and very easy to work on yourself.

Anyways, my point is, don't get too caught up in the idea that you need tons of power or that you'll only enjoy a smaller bike for a couple of months and then "need" to upgrade. I haven't found this to be true.

GSXR 600, use C mode the first few thousand km..edit - just noticed he said 2006

but you ain't gonna get it for 4k

The sv is a great bike to learn on, very forgiving and fast enough to lose your license lol. There's also the zzr600, cbr600 f4i those are also good choices and cheaper on insurance
