Looking for a luggage rack solution.

Hey all,
So I'm still looking for a rack for my Rebel 500 to mount with the GIVI cases that I have. The only ones I've found that are suitable are in Asia, and there's no one that seems to be willing / able to ship from there, or I'm just not asking the right people. Same goes for Japan. I put in an order and within a few minutes got a cancellation notice.
GIVI doesn't sell the rack here, and I've tried a couple of shops that don't have it.

Before I go spending $600 on a whole new setup (i.e.: SHAD 3P) I thought I'd ask here first.

1. Anyone have connections in Philippines / Thailand / Japan that can send this? Piece is about $150-170 and with shipping comes to about 1/2 of a new setup.

2. Any way to get a normal rack and modify to suit?
3. Any DIY options for this type of thing? I can get the mounting pieces as such: SW-MOTECH sidecase adapter kit for Quick-Lock sideracks (GIVI Monokey/Kappa) - TwistedThrottle.ca

And finally, any other relatively inexpensive options out there for a lockable, hard luggage setup that you can think of? Don't want it too bulky (hence I love the E21s I have).
I've seen ammo can builds, but once again, not a huge fan but it's a last resort.

Once I get in the $400-500 range then I'm better off to just buy the damn thing new from elsewhere.

They say they ship to over 120 countries. Did you email them and ask why an order that appears to have been accepted is then cancelled? It would seem that if they did not ship to Canada you should not be able to complete an order in their system.

Other option, do you have a US mailbox or mail drop? I use CBI in NF for companies that do not ship to Canada or to benefit from free in US shipping. CBI processing charge is about $6 US. Maybe this company does ship to the US if not Canada.

And if you can find some sheet steel, you could fab something like this bracket. Behind the bags, so painted would be ok...

Sari guards <- spell check seems to insist that is the correct spelling

Looks like the mounting points on the Rebel are right out in the open so shouldn't be too hard to fab up a couple of brackets. Have a local welding shop whip up a couple of tubular racks with Givi compatible mounting points and tack on a couple of arms to bolt it in place. We have a guy we use for small projects at work. I'd expect something like $150 + materials (+$20 for some primer and paint).

If you're not into custom work, I suppose you could try this with an adaptor plate for the Givi mounts: https://sw-motech.com/en/products/luggage/Legend+Gear/side+carrier/4052572047477.htm

Thanks for the suggestion guys! Unfortunately most of the ones suggested only work with soft bags and the ones that are thrown over the top of the fender and underneath the seat. However I'm seeing some possibilities.
Definitely thinking of going the DIY route as that may be the best bet.
@jc100 thanks for the suggestion...I saw another item on their listings but not this one. I'll ask them.

Just got off the email train with GIVI Phillipines and they said 'try to find someone in the country to ship to you as we cannot ship to Canada'...dammit...I believe the phrase from Futurama is 'Shut up and take my money!'

I haven't thought of shipping to the US instead. I'll give that a shot as well. Thanks.
