Looking for a Knapsack

I've also been looking for a backpack for riding. The two that I've narrowed my choice down to is the A* Tech Aero bag, and the Ogio No Drag. Both are designed for riding. If I can find the Original No Drag that has the helmet hood and the pocket for the camelbak hose in the shoulder strap I will definitely buy that one. Both are well over 100 dollars, but definitely get what you pay for.
Check the review out for the No Drag, its pretty cool http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTpjm8SPHUI

I ended up getting the Ogio on boxing day. It's a great bag with two sizes to choose from. Has plenty of space for a weekend trip and it's worth it for the price. I think Royal Distributing has them for around $120. But I'm sure you can find them online for a little cheaper.Hope this helps! cheers

You don't need a motorcycle specific bag. Just go to MEC and find something you like. They have some affordable "dunkable" bags for canoeing. Here's what I like in a backpack that you might look for:

- large padded waist belt for keeping weight off shoulders (especially good if you get something huge and pack 2 or 3 24's into it)
- various tie down points/loops to strap extra things like helmets to the outside or to tie the bag down on the back seat
- compression straps for when you have a small load but want expandability for larger loads

Just tie the loose extra straps down somehow so they don't blow around and you'll be golden. If you really want to go cheap just get a duffel bag and strap it to the back seat.

Tons of threads on this. MEC is great but if you feel the need for a moto branded pack, geta Kriega.

Why would anyone want something strapped to their back while riding when you can have a magnetic tankbag with backpack capability when you really want it?

another option is check decent ski shops right now, (not sport check, a real ski shop) there are some really well made skiing packs designed for being on your back at speed, hold big loads and don't have floppy bits that will catch the wind.
And its the end of the season and all on sale.

I use this for the quick trips: http://www.mec.ca/AST/ShopMEC/Packs/Daypacks/PRD~5031-504/deuter-race-x-daypack.jsp
the shoulder straps are so perforated you feel the wind going through. it has a waist strap and one at the chest level to keep it secure. the zipper tags can be snapped together to avoid any flapping around. It also has a waterproof cover.

For longer trips, I use the OGIO No Drag mach5. Pricey, but worth every penny.
For the really long trips, I ditch my backpacks and go with Kriega tail bags (25L & 30L).

I used to have a tank bag, but hated it and got rid of it. (It was annoying to me whenever I have to gas up).
To maximize your capapcity in bags or knapsacks, use vacuum bags if applicable.

We're using a Kreiga R20 rucksack with a US5 Drypack attachment. The main rucksack isn't waterproof, but the 5L attachment is, you can keep your wallet, phone, etc there. I've stored an ASUS netbook in the 5L Drypack, it's large enough.

We also have a BMW Function Backpack. Very well-made, totally waterproof and the bottom expands to accommodate a full-size helmet. My favorite motorcycle backpack ever. Have taken it riding through 4 continents and counting.

Someone should start a poll about what the best topic is: backpacks, insurance, guns, or cell phones?

I need to know which back pack will hold my guns, cell phone and where to get the cheapest insurance for it.
