Locked out of my Mac

Just an old email account.

I started a junk email with hotmail, using it for junk stuff. The problem is that I can't remember my password and the junk mail has built up to a sizable chunk of memory. They don't give any reset options. Any tips?

Also the magnetic chare plug needs to be replaced. I haven't had good luck with Apple service.

No idea on the hotmail…

As for the charge cord, you can go to any Apple Store and get a replacement plug. You can also order them online from the Apple Store.

I say this with good intentions... but can you re-read what you posted, and let us know if it makes sense to you?

You can buy aftermarket Magsafe adapters at a place like Canada Computers if you have one near you. Or go for a genuine one from the Apple store, or Best Buy.

As for Hotmail, are you saying you cannot do a password recovery? I don't use Microsoft stuff much (or hotmail at all) but I believe everything so far as passwords are Microsoft account centric now vs Hotmail specific - check out this link perhaps?

I also use hotmail as burner account. Did you set up any links to anywhere else for password recovery? Otherwise, there may be a way to answer questions and get in. Hotmail is now outlook but you just enter your email as Nobbie@hotmail.com while on outlook.com. I haven't deleted anything in more than a decade from it. I'm not running out of space. Something like 40K junk emails in there.

Just create new "junk" account on hotmail, or whatever free service you prefer. This time write down the password. 🤷‍♂️

You can probably buy a used or new charging adapter.

Problem solved. Mac Air apparently has a bug that distorts the storage numbers. Mine said 90 GB was for systems. Doing a safe start re jigged the numbers dropping the systems by 60 GB. Lots of room now
