Pffffttt DD snob in the house. I have an M&P 9 if you want another...can't get used to the trigger

Mine:

1) SKS (bonus in a nice aftermarket stock)
2) M14 (or M305) in an EBR style stock
3) Any 1911. I'm partial to my Ruger but also like my bubba Norinco one. My Sig 1911-22 is a hoot

You need an apex trigger kit. HUGE difference.

I have no desire to keep it if I can't use it in IPSC. The trigger kit would make it ineligible for Production Division

You can use the duty carry kit which brings the trigger to 5-5.5lb that is still legal in production class. Smooths it out and makes the trigger reset much shorter too, worth every penny.

Add a dawson precision f/o front sight (if its not the pro) and your set with a very competitive pistol.

I'm thinking of using my 92FS instead. Just need to get more range time with it

Ahh fair enough, 92fs is a great bit of kit.

I was in NY for the weekend, tons of people with "piss on NY SAFE act" and "repeal the SAFE act" decals, stickers, posters and lawn signs.

I asked someone what the act was about, someone who had 3 decals against it on their truck.

"Gun control bs laws" was the answer I got. I questioned further for specifics and the reply was (I couldn't make this stuff up) "oh I don't know, but I'm against it".....

And then proceeded to inform me that if everyone had a gun there would be no crime committed EVER.

I was gobsmacked.

So stickers are your favorites?

Yes sir.

I'm not opposed to guns at all, just opposed to irrational people owning them.

Problem with gun laws is they dont work.. The law abiding citizens are the only one that suffer... The criminals will still and always get their hands on guns.

This is obviously unfair for the law-abiding citizens

So the only gun law that would ever make sense is to make the production of guns illegal and wipe them out from planet earth... since this will never happen it should be allowed that law-abiding citizens have rights to own guns to protect themselves and their properties against criminals.

You also have to remember that most governments if not all don't want their citizens owning guns for the simple fact that they never want to risk an armed citizen uprising against their corrupt ways

"If i was educated, I'd be a damn fool"

The point I was making is that he actually didn't know what he was opposing, only that he was opposed to it.

And a great majority of gun owners will absolutely agree with you. By the way, don't come down too hard on the NY gun owners. Their gun restrictions are already worse than in Canada and I avoid going down there to shoot matches even though they have some nice facilities. If they are trying to impose MORE restrictions, I'd be opposed to them based on the simple fact that they're already more than bad enough and don't need any more gun control BS. Here's my position:

1) No restriction on number of firearms one can own (we're good there)
2) No restriction on the type of firearms one can own (if you only KNEW how STUPID our laws are)
3) No magazine capacity restrictions that only hurt the law-abiding and don't make the communities safer (I can turn a 5rd magazine into a 30rd magazine in 30s with a Dremel tool and they can also easily be made - the CAD's are out there)
4) Open and concealed carry allowed (850,000 reported annual uses of self-defensive firearm use in the US and you can imagine how many cases of "I pulled the gun, the criminal ran off, I won't bother reporting" there are)
5) No registration required (waste of taxpayer dollars that doesn't prevent any crime as proven in Canada)
6) Mandatory, but affordable and easily accessible training for people who wish to carry firearms in public places
7) No fixed storage legislation, but if a dumbarse leaves a loaded gun accessible to children and something happens, he should serve time
8 ) Mandatory safety training and criminal/mental background checks but on a WILL ISSUE basis (the government must issue unless there is a valid reason not to, appealable with an INDEPENDENT body)

The NY SAFE Act is the posterchild of knee-jerk reactionary legislation following tragic events. It's utter bull, and the guy is right to oppose it... maybe he just didn't feel like explaining any of it to you, or maybe he's just ignorant.

Sandy Hook happened on December 14th, and the SAFE Act was signed into law on January 15th. 4 weeks to pass sweeping legislation that affects thousands (if not millions) of law abiding citizens in the state of New York. Just brutal.
