I think the definition of talent differs for me and most people here. My definition of talent is, natural abilities to perform well above average at something. Then if the person gets to develop those abilities further through systematic practice and training to become exceptional at the task. The talent is the same now, that is you have guys that have those natural abilities like Szoke and Co. did in their younger days, but the difference is the guys nowadays have minimal, if not zero, support to proceed further. Natural talent didn't just disappear, there was no genetic drift to the human population in Canada over the last 15 years, only the financial and tech support to help develop the local talent to get to the level of Szoke disappeared!

Anyway, the moral of the story is if ex factory bikes are coming with clean title ownerships, there is no excuse for the others not to have one. Buy whatever you want, it will be on you to explain later to potential buyers, or worse the cops...

Um, no it hasn't disappeared and nobody was born with the ability to ride good. You might be born with a unique physique and enjoy the health to be that one in a million, possibly enjoy the support from parents, another one in a million.
But it is serious hard work and dedication plus some luck and circumstance that makes it happen.

Tons of riding area here today :)

The talent is in NO way the same as it was

The reason for it... there isn't enough competition.

There used to be a time where the top 15 could win a race. Now, it's the same 2 or 3.

Not enough competition to sharpen other talent.

Jordan is a raw talent, as well as having incredible work ethic.

The last 2 races at Mosport were pretty close with about 10 riders fighting it out. What did these 10 riders have in common other than talent? All had great tech and/or factory support! Go ask the guys who finished under 10th place how they feel coming to the track on their own trying to play mechanic, suspension and steering geometry specialist, data analyzer specialist and racer all in one.

I don't know why you keep bringing up Jordan, he's an exceptional racer with accomplishments that hardly any Canadian racer will match anytime soon. But even in his prime, he has had moments of being second best from other talented racers in CSBK. The problem is some of those racers don't even get to race regularly anymore as the support to do so just isn't there... So how will you know what the current talent is like, if even people who show Jordan a wheel can't secure enough support to compete with him regularly?

Not everyone who races in Pro will be a winner or even a podium contender, but all we've been watching usually in CSBK for the last decade is a 1 or 2 men show, because no one else can get the support needed to compete at that level.

Not sure what you're trying to prove anymore, I thought we were talking about race bikes with or without a title?

A few lawn chairs, Rossi86 and Jordan.
Would love to be there!

Oh, and a big old humble pie for later.

Sure, can Suzuki at least supply me with free decals that add horse power? Show me one line where I said I'm anywhere near as fast as Jordan?

Typical GTAM expertise here, topic is race bikes without ownership. Local racer tells people, even factory race bikes can come with a title. Experts don't like the response because they own race bikes without a title, conversation diverts into local racer is not as fast as Jordan. Hilarious

BTW, I have another ex Pro race GSXR1000 of the same gen as Martin's, it too came with a clean title. I have it insured, and ride it on the street! So much for race bikes don't have a title...

You're not giving Jordan the credit he deserves. He EARNED every sponsorship and dealers help he has ever used.

This didn't give it away for you? "don't know why you keep bringing up Jordan, he's an exceptional racer with accomplishments that hardly any Canadian racer will match anytime soon"

He deserved it all, others of comparable caliber deserve more than little or nothing, or the sport will continue to go downhill.

Jordan works as hard as he rides. I think (not 100% sure) that he is the only person in Canada who makes a living via roadracing and doesn't have a "real job" (and isn't a teenager sponsored by parents). Bob Szoke sank a lot of money into Jordan's career early on, too. That's generally how it goes with the top riders. Start riding at 3 years old because dad raced, parents fund early years, top-level rider by their teenage years. I didn't even touch a motorcycle until I was older than Rossi was when he started winning world championships.

Where are those parents now? Are the kids riding (requires land area, money, time) or playing video games? There are some ... but not many.

I'm not far away from just riding and not working, but it's not because of my riding, it's because I've busted my butt doing other stuff ("real job") for a few decades and have stashed enough away to take early retirement :) Too olde to ever win world championships but I'm sure going to enjoy it regardless ...

This is amusing coming from the racer who didn't even earn his Pro licence. Lol.

Also, the gsxr1000 you have is Francis Martin's B bike. Black foot still has the A bike at their shop.

Back to the topic. Factory race bikes as in ACTUAL factory racebikes don't come with a ownership or VIN. They come with paperwork that says "not useable for street use". Ask anyone who bought an RS250 aprilia cup bike.

and at the secondary topic.

Ben and Kenny are the only racers currently riding who are in the same talent area as Jordan is, which is really sad for canadian racing.
Leclair is well on his way, and I hope he gets the recognition he deserves and the sponsorships that go with that.

Does alexander dumas not count? Because he races in america?

True!

Also Rossi86 turned "pro" when he got 2nd in a championship nobody showed up to race in. Eli won the title by like 200pts.

His lap times on his Superbike wouldn't even win him the Am600 race.

It's easy to play "pro" when you did nothing but to show up and get podiums vs actually working to get them.

I'd like to see how he would fair on an R3 in the Lightweight super sport class with the rest of us "scrubs" on little bikes who haven't accomplished anything...

The thing I notice is that none of the other track racer guys trying to beat him on the hardtop ever turn out to trials events to ride and learn from Jordan, he rides competitive with our top riders from all of the dirt sport disciplines and all those guys are all getting pretty freakin good at riding.

lol and just to keep all square on thread topic, Jordan has a nice TRS for sale that likely has nothing more then a bill of sale ownership if it hasn't sold already.

This is hilarious! I didn't earn my Pro licence at all, RACE is giving them away; unfortunately for you, to the better riders. FYI I went pro after my rookie year, you've been there for 10+ years and still among the slowest riders in amateur! It's funny how you group yourself with a group of riders from the "golden era" how your rode with them and they went on to top Pros and race internationally, you're still getting beaten by kids learning how to ride bikes with less than 50 hp bikes, hahahaha ? ? ? ?

It is a race bike built by Blackfoot racing, should I keep tabs on how many fasteners Martin lost out on track, maybe the fasteners were replaced from the originals at some point and that won't make it authentic anymore. Oh you're gonna have a hard time unloading those junk bikes you're trying to sell to people, they don't even have proper paper work. Now I see why you're all ****** off with the personal attacks

Take it to pm's kids.
