Left hand on thigh.... why?

I tried this with my right hand but the bike started to stop on me.

That leads into the level 2 manoeuvre, "The Stranger" - controlling the throttle with your left hand. It's almost like cruise control!

It's an adrenalin rush!

And for an ever greater adrenalin kick I rest my right hand. I find it keeps me awake better on those 12-16 hr days. :laughing8:

I see it all the time, but I could never understand it. Even on my CBR for a couple of hours in traffic or on highway I don't feel any fatigue keeping my hands on the handlebars.

Keeping one hand away from the handlebar just seems dangerous as it really inflates your reaction time... Why do people do it?

Umm...you should have made a video of your complaint. REDBALLS would like to oogle your chair.
I do it because it is comfy. I don't get how ss riders get their arm back that way though without it being uncomfortable.

And from my experience it is illegal to ride with on hand in Alberta. I can scan the my friend's ticket he got last week. Idiot thought it was funny to wave to a speed trap. Wasn't even speeding, cops pulls him over and gives him a ticket for riding with on hand, missing front reflectors, missing rear reflectors, obstructed plates, and two more stupid tickets I don't remember.

Who is this "on hand" dude that I wouldn`t want to ride with? Wait, are you saying you ride on your hand? Now I'm confused.

Do you drive the car with your hands at 10 and 2 o'clock at all times? Or do you wind your window down/up, change radio stations, adjust your vehicles HVAC, eat or drink, or are one of those drivers who thinks they have to keep looking at their passengers while they drive as they talk to them?

If you do even one of those things even once then get off your soapbox.

The new 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock is 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock or don't you watch Canada's worst driver?

You need a Goldwing then. It comes standard with cruise control. You can even wave with your right hand, if you want to.

All kidding aside lately I've been resting my feet on the frame sliders like they were hwy pegs on long hwy trips. Really helps my sore *** more than anything.

Left hand on thigh is nice but I'm more of a headstand kinda guy. It helps to straighten my back...0702_sbkp_02_z+xclusive_freestyle_riderz_stunt+bill_knight_handstand.jpg

That guy just put a new definition to the word "squid"!!! Unbelievable!

I do it because of ADHD mostly I think =/ but my left wrist does get fatigued more than my right for some reason so sometimes i'll do the captain morgan...... sometimes when im tired AND my wrist is hurting at the same time, I lay my forearm across my tank and lean in on it.... but thats on open roads with no traffic

maybe I need a cruiser already =/

Haha, it's not a complaint, just an observation. Plus it's fun reading the comments when I'm bored.

As for video I tend to believe that unless I'm a hot chick with a huge rack in a bikini I shouldn't be featured in an instructional video.

I switch between cptn. morgan, feet on frame sliders, to forearm on tank and feet on pasanger pegs. Otherwise my *** gets numb, and knees start to ache after anything over 2 hours.

A. Was a thread on this already a month or so ago. Same question, same responses....

B. As was mentioned then and again in this thread, some of us are well past our 20's. You'd be amazed how much your back, neck and knees can hurt...especially if you've ever had injuries to them. That change in posture is more than welcome after a certain point. After awhile, I start moving around at lights just to stretch them out. Riding hard in the short term is great...but anything longer starts to get to me somedays. If you've never experienced it yourself...give another 10 or 15 years ;)

Fo sho - I mean, back rest, rear mudguard AND a little cargo carrier...for shame!

because left hand on shaft takes my attention off the road

Yup, that's probably me too. I often like to post, run to the kitchen to get my popcorn, come back to the computer and sit waiting for responses.

And yeah, what makes you think I'm in my 20s? I happen to be much older and just have good core and arm muscles. :P
