last night 401 east

it's an inconvenience to the 20-30-50 other motorists because it raises their blood pressure and might induce a heart attack. Some people just need to learn to chill.

wow, did i read someone spend $350 on a rear tire?
lol petes-superbike.com

great thread!

why cant we just live and let live. who cares what one rider does, certainly something so minimal as lane FILTERING. Now post on about ATGATT all day...LOL jk jk

OP dont waste your time with these thoughts. Its just shortening you lifespan.

The whole point was all i read on here is complaints about getting tickets for things people have done and was showing this wasnt filtering they drove down that shoulder for a long ways. I could care less but i know for a fact if they got a ticket or hit by a cager who moves into that lane to get a look ahead or a cop gave them a ticket the thread would be I got a god dam ticket all i was doing was riding down the shoulder.

Funny how you could read anger into what i said, I wasn't angry just was waiting to see is a thread would pop up saying they got a ticket.
I like the police no more then anyone else but you have your head buried in the sand and pretend they wouldn't complain and say it wasn't right.

I could care less if you choose to but its not the lane you should be "filtering" in anyways so i don't know how that arguement came in to play.
thank you for all the health advice and good thoughts nice to see GTA Everyone ride safe

On NO should have not said ride safe either?

Like everything community there are always people who follow the law and then there are people who don't, also everyone breaks laws at some level or the other. If you were in the lane waiting like everyone else while other bikers passed on the shoulder i believe the cagers would have certainly noticed how not all bikers are the same. Some wait while others don't, i don't see why it would ruin the biker image given there are others who wait in line just like everyone else. If someone from the same community breaking the law ruins the image of others then that would mean every community's image is tarnished at one level or the other. The police have their crooks, so does the army, so do the doctors, and the list goes on......unless there is an overwhelmingly stark number of bikers who break the law which i believe is not the case(hopefully) i don't see why that would ruin my image.

Aside from that people usually break traffic laws which are easier to forgo....i am sure if the cagers could lane split....err...i mean lane filter, there would have been an awful lot of them doing it. Also from a cager perspective i would rather have someone go on the shoulder then weave in and out of lanes causing me trouble.

yet another attack when just state what happened. Wasn't angry was just saying as im sure if you got pulled over due the actions of others youd fine with that.

I did not make the statment "attacking you" Your original statment sounded more like a Complaint in how someone rode down the shoulder while you were "sweating bullets" and doing "The right thing"

We all need to respect each other, complaining about the actions of others does not help anyone and does nothing to further our cause or enjoyment in the sport we all love. None of us are perfect, live with that and live and let live.

I guess that you haven't seen the many FTP threads around here?

Chiropractic clinics seem to be starting to get painted with a rather broad brush, based on some number of them being involved in insurance fraud. I'm pretty sure that annoys an acquaintance of mine, who is in the business.

I often see cagers taking to the breakdown lane, in order to get an advantage over slower moving traffic. The difference is that with the sheer number of them, it's hard for their overall image to be tarnished by the few who do this. By way of comparison, we're far more limited in number and visible.

Some broken laws, like the speed limit to a limited extent, are given a pass by observers. It can even be dangerous to not speed, in certain circumstances. Others make you stand out and it's the nail that sticks up, that gets hammered down. A few morons, in Montreal, have managed to get certain residential areas marked as off limits for ALL motorcyclists. Civic bylaws are being rewritten because of the same sort of excessive noise, created by a relative few.

The bad behaviour of a few can most certainly have an effect on the many and the, "I do what I want!" cries of these people take on the same sort of grating tone as that of the teenage sex addicts on the Maury Show, with the same level of maturity.

Well said.

if traffic is moving (even its 10km/hr) i dont pass on shoulder. as soon as it comes to full stop i do pass afew cars on shoulder or do filtering on red light. im sorry but it just doesnt make sense to act like a car when you are on a bike. the law is there because there arent many bikers around . and it makes sense at some point for safety. more bikers out there u will see it (the law) will become neutralized after some point (california example). and yeah i never do those things on group ridings ...

do what ever you want, but know that if you get a cop in the right frame of mind that has it in for bikes, he'll 172 you so quickly, you're 10 second filter will be a week long headache and $5K lighter. Search this board, it's happened.

Nice to see the to sport bikes ride up the shoulder as we all waited in the traffic around 1030pm last night. I know you think your special but makes us all look bad i was sweating bullets on my sv but i waited like everyone else.

These are the type of moves that help give us a bad name. Hope the cop i passed sitting in the shoulder about half hour later didn't get you or maybe i do?

Ive seen middle aged dorks with their daughters on the back of daddy's HD in flip flops do this, especially in the weekends. They'll probably get get a nail or glass punctured tire.

Yep, I've seen just as many HD guys do stuff like this as sport bike guys... Only difference, is the Sport bike crowd is normally better suited up for the crash.

.. with a miner in spelling policing. :)

ok..now, that e's on purpose right?

re policing, good one..I just didn't want to be too hard the guy..

Poor guy has sorta been pummeled since he started the thread..think it mighta been cuz of his last sentence in OP. Seems like a pretty good head really. We all put our foot in it at times.
