Kobalt Liquidation!

Holy crap. That's a lot of stuff. A lot of those tools are handy to have cordless as many jobs just need a few seconds of power. Why did you buy multiple drills and impacts? I have a bunch but mainly so I can leave them various places. I wouldn't be buying nearly as many if I had to start the collection again. If you had switched to red, the batteries would have cost more than your entire haul (but I have had good luck with red longevity). I also gave up on yellow due to longevity/reliability issues.

I assume the kit has a charger and you bought a couple spares or you have four chargers? If I was advising people, I would avoid the speakers/radios that are tool linked as I have used them but don't really see the value to have them tied into my expensive battery supply. At 70% off, they may be cheaper than generic stuff.
One regular drill and small impact driver came in a 4-tool kit with a battery and charger. I then bought a hammer drill, tool only. The large impact is of the lug-nut variety. I have a Jolt bluetooth speak that I really like for the garage. I made the mistake of suggesting my wife use once. I had to fight to get it back. lol. The Kobalt is the exact same type of speaker and cost me $40, whereas the Jolt cost me $60, if I remember right.
The three charges all came with various tools, as did 3 batteries. The other batteries were $27 each with my dad's senior discount, lol. His idea.

If they’re being liquidated, doesn’t that mean they’re being discontinued? ( I could be wrong) If so, then batteries will be hard to come by in the future. The 12 batteries you got should do you good for a while though.
That was my thinking. Hopefully I get 8-10 years out of it, but if I only get 5 then I'll start to slowly replace the with red, as GG called it, as they die.

You should get more than that as long as you keep them out of the rain and don't abuse them. I don't know if I've bought any in the last decade. I've had one out of two yellow batteries die, no red or blue casualties.

Can you share the location of the sale, please?
They don't have everything, and stock is going quickly. I got 85-90% of it at Channel Control on Henry Street in Brantford. It's tricking to get to, though. You drive between Burger King and Princess Auto, going behind Princess Auto, and turn left at the stop sign. It'll be at the end of the parking lot on your right. It'll come into view when you pass the building on your right. You'll see a loading dock, and Channel Control next to that. You enter what used to be a ground-level loading bay. It was once part of the Massey Ferguson plant.
The hammer drill, speaker, work light, 6ah battery and oscillating tool I got from Rona.

I agree. I'm gonna pick one up now an then as long as they are available. I have two still in the pack that I will leave till needed, and add more.

Good price, the risk is longer term support of the ecosystem, mostly batteries. Like others noted, Kobalt is a bit of an orphan these days with Craftsman taking its place in stores--likely why the deal is so good. As long as the batteries that came with it last it is a solid deal. Or if it becomes a problem one can always make an adapter to use other brand batteries.
Out of curiosity I checked Amazon and found they do have adapters.

Talk about lifetime warranties, that's what I always liked about Craftsman and Mastercraft hand tools. I just bought a use, but like-new, Crasftman 2 piece chest and rolling tool box for $300 to organize my motorcycle-specific tools. I figure it'll be much easier finding the right tool, and make clean-up quicker. When I went to pick the boxes the still had tools. He said he was cleaning house and would rather give them to me then sort through them and list them on Marketplace. A lot were junk and I'll toss them, but some are good, like a chain breaker that I needed and a chainsaw sharpener, which I also needed. My point, though, is that there are a bunch of chipped and corroded Mastercraft screwdrivers that I immediately turn into brand new screwdrivers.
I wish Sears was still around to exchange Craftsman tools.

I've heard that at least in the US, you can exchange old craftsmen for new at Lowes.
It looks like Rona is now an authorized Craftsman dealer. So, I think you may be right. I just emailed Rona to inquire if they honour the warranty on Craftsman, even older tools bought from Sears.

Not a garage tool, but Lowes covered a broken lid handle (needed a weld) from a set of Sears "lifetime" warranty pots and pan set I bought a couple hundred years ago.
I'm assuming Rona would be likewise?
