knee guard recommendations

Since then, I have bought the Knox Cross guard knee guards. They fit me really well and are comfortable to wear all day. I have removed the crappy knee pads that come in riding pants and wear the Knox ones under any riding pant I have.

Where did you pick these up? I had bought a pair of Icon Field Armour Strykers from GP, but returned them as they did not work/fit well (no upper strap over the knee, so they wouldn't bend/flex properly). Thinking about either the Knox Cross or the Dainese Knee V, but I'd want to try either on locally for 5-10 mins before actually buying. When I mentioned the Knox Cross to GP they told me it wasn't something they could get in (might have just been the sales guy I was talking to).

Essentially I'm after CE guards with straps (below and above the knee), as I'd likely wear them over jeans but under my textile pants.

I purchased mine from :

I watched the video and decided from the review that they were worth a shot. I have had them for a year now. No complaints.
I went with the large version. as they protect from the top of my Sidi boots, to above my knee.

Hope this helps.

Confused about the Knox Flex Lite. Is it a tube or a strap on? If it's a strap on, is there a strap above the knee? I don't want a knee guard that's going to flap about.

*bump*

Does anyone know the answer?

Don't get the new icons... they are way too bulky.

It's more of tube type that you slip your leg through. It also has a strap under the knee. They stay in place quite well and don't move around while walking or riding. Go to Knox main site (UK site) they have a good video display. I think Sportbiketrackgear also has a video review. When I purchased my Draggin jeans they had a special deal with the jean purchase. You may want to check their site also , if you are also looking for kevlar type jeans.

Go to knox's website. You can see videos of all their products and see how far down each one protects. Even with my riding boots and the knox knee guards there is a small gap on my shins that would be left unprotected.

Wait for the biker leather place to have a sale again and get the knox for 15-50% off depending on the sale. Shipping isn't free unless the order is over a certain amount so one of the other dealers might be able to approach the price.

do you like them?

They are pretty good, the only thing is if you don't have anything between them and your leg it might start to chafe after a bit (though that could just be me), that's why I said I should have bought the "sock" or something to go over the knee but under the knee guard.

do you have any pics of them on? (been thinking of these vs. the knox knee long).

I could take a pic but then I'd have to show you my boxers and well I don't want to do that.

I'd say go try them on at GP and see if you like them, that's where I got mine.
