Kawasaki's 2013 new 250r. Are you ready?

TL;DW: The 2013 ninja 250 has cheaper flimsy and tacky patterned plastic, and no longer will the engine cut off when put in gear with the kickstand down.

I can see many noob riders in the future forgetting to put the kickstand up, then getting a nice expensive bill to fix all the cracked plastic. With all that said, I like the new look, even if it does make it look more like a 250 now instead of the previous "bigger bike" style.

In any case, does APPEAR to be of a lesser build. I'll have to conduct my own tap tests to be sure.

Not to channel Pegassus or anything but that digital dash was TINY! Does a larger display really cost that much?

I'm amazed at that those crummy toolkits are still included with Japanese bikes in 2012.

I'm amazed that a new bike sounds like a Cavalier with a cracked exhaust manifold

those crummy toolkits are very, very handy...they're there for a reason.

I call BS.

They're not going to reveal that information early, otherwise everyone is going to wait for the new stock and they'd be stuck with a bunch of 2012 Ninjas on their floor.

I will also perform the tap test on my current bike to determine its quality. I say we should STICKY this procedure.....

I always wonder why they can't throw a gear indicator onto the already digital dash. Most bikes already have the info in the ECU but they won't spend the 5c extra to add a few cells to the LCD? But they'll put a fuel economy indicator on some bikes...

The video mentions the older model had an aftermarket exhaust, but I agree, not very inspiring. Connect a needle and bobbin to the drive sprocket and you could start sewing jeans.

Once the new design drives down demand for the older versions, I wouldn't mind picking one up (that video of that rider in the Pyrenees WAS inspiring).

Its not just the japanese bikes that have crummy toolkits, my BMW GSA has a terrible tool kit, so did my previous GS. I went and bought a kit that is actually usable.
 
I havn't actually heard of any bike coming with a usable tool kit :laughing9:

<shrugs> I like the kit that came on my R1's. Sparkplug tool, hex keys, screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, axle wrench, shock preload adjuster, etc. I cant think of anything they are missing for the type of work that you would be doing out on the road.
