Kawasaki's 2013 new 250r. Are you ready?

Pretty nice... The new cbr125,250 have a bad design.. I can see this taking over the small displacement market

Such great news! New, (hopefully) better suspension is what this bike needs most. I'm also really happy with the new 140 rear. That opens up options for radial tires without altering geometry. If the bike is as good as it's sounding, it looks like I might be able to keep my cc's low when I upgrade. But I gotta admit, I like the 2008-2012 styling better.

The ktm 350 looks promising as hell. What are the chances that it'd get here? & if it did, what would expected prices be?

Lastly, I wonder if this will change anything for small-cc track racing. If all these manufacturers start jumping in, then 250s could actually be made decent enough from the factory to not just be starter bikes.

unlikely...race ready 250's are a niche market and setting them up to be track ready from the factory will only raise their price to more than what most people will be willing to pay

Is this supposed to be a Kawaprilia Ninjabusa 250RS... for the non-straight?

WTF?

From the link provided for kawi japan.
  • Liquid-cooled
  • 4-stroke Parallel Twin
  • DOHC 8-valve
  • Digital Fuel Injection (some markets)
  • 249 cm[SUP]3[/SUP]
  • 6-speed
  • 172 kg / 174 kg (ABS model)

I doubt we'll get ABS and FI on it in Canada.

Even the 650R has had ABS since 2006 and we only got it here this year.

I have been considering downgrading to the CBR250... hopefully the 250R will come with FI and ABS and I'll have something else to think about. Also considering an Aprilia RS125 (completely different beast, I know) but they're so over priced (the only one on Kijiji right now is new at $7400 and I'd guess they'll have trouble registering it as street legal).

They'd be crazy to put carbs on it in NA. like batshit insane.

They've been available with FI everywhere else in the world for years now. Why would they change their plan now?

So so yum!

I''l be swapping my 2009 ZX10R for one of these for the wife. I'm excited!

Looks sharp....

I think you will see the FI here, but not the ABS. The European model will get ABS this year.. the North American model will get it 5 years down the road like they did with the 650r.

If Kawasaki wants to seriously compete against the CBR250 in 2013 they need to bring the EFI version to Canada. Rumours of a new Honda CBR400 or 450 to be released next year as well, unless Yamaha decides to finally cash in the 250 scene and release their long awaited 250r model (damn sexy beast)

absolutely love the styling, other than the tire size.. would be difficult to distinguish between the supersports

Yep, gotta do it in white!
